about creation engine 2
So first of all: the engine being old does not mean anything at all, unreal engine is 20+ years old and people still praise it all the time, an old engine can be changed to fit the needs of an new game just fine, and modified versions of the quake engine are still used even today.

some people also complain that the visuals are dated but honestly i would rather have the level of object persistence that bethesda games have over some useless graphics stuff that bloats the requirements for the game, like there are alredy multiple games needing 100 GB of space without even having all the features i would want from a bethesda game.

BUT creation engine 2 is also not the best thing ever made like some people would have you believe, version 3.18 of the star citizen alpha will alredy be ahead of bethesda's engine and that patch is coming before starfield releases (that is probally due to it being exclusive to high end pcs and not having to run on console hardware).

but sure keep on claiming that they are scamming people if you want.
Sure, they have delivered on some tech... but not on their advertising. Do you honestly think they will make good on their stretch goal of 100 systems? And if so, what is your honest estimate of when that might happen? They've been in alpha for 10 years. What Star Citizen is to me IMHO, is an evolving tech demo. I will be on my death bed before Star Citizen releases with 100 star systems. I backed in 2012 with the high hopes that I could play a released game several years later. And here we are, 10 years later and they're finally getting around to releasing the second system. It's nowhere near the level of Diablo Immortal monitization, but they have zero reason to ever leave alpha.

Their main focus is ship design. I'll give them that, their ships are phenomenal, the best created ships in any game. (Also cost a pretty penny for those that purchase them) The rest of the game is severely over ambitious and they need to shift focus to their end goal. But what/when is that?

so the not having the 100 star systems yet is what you will use to judge the game? what about games that will NEVER deliver on certain features that were promised? there are plenty of times where a game company (including bethesda) say " X feature will be in the game" and then it never gets added to the game, are those games automatically awful because of that?

and you dont NEED to spend a lot of money on ships since you can use in game currency instead (but i still dissagre with the pricing of plenty of em).

Yep but the content depends on what you value I guess...
I mean, I am pretty sure that no game will be able to make similar sparkles as SC spent millions to make them right.
On the other hand, there is no game lol
You can't even keep what you earn, even with the tales of persistent universe since 2018

Alot of games are wiping their customers progress. Its a really messed up industry with profit sharing. efforts to unionize customers and the game makers, an entire hacker industry to keep the games interesting, efforts to force regulation on a creative industry that is only good if it remains as it is with ratings and such, and all sorts of fail hard olympics going on.
I don't know of any games that actually reset player progression. I mean on rare, very niche instances like Empyrion, that happens per private server basis but it's not the developers choice. As that would probably be a disaster on an actually released game.
But even if there were, CIG is selling ships as they wipe player progress, ultimately making people to lose what they gained, so that eventually buying more ships with real money, to be able to keep them.

and how about something like call of duty warzone or pubg? all you ever do in those is drive cars and shoot yet people refer to those as "games'
I can play those "games" on my PC as "how they were advertised". There is no sq42, no SC as they were advertised since 2015™. And your "persistent universe" has been the lie I had been hearing since 2018.
1 system... 100 systems, with or without sparkles, telltale of a persistent universe versus wipes, millions of "backers" not playing anymore since what is presented is little more than some junk that is being constantly "improved", but none of those matter.

Is it released? No. Does it have a release date? No. Do people believe that it will be released fully functional? No. There is no game. End of story.

Whine at the capabilities of CE as much as you like, it doesn't matter, unless it fails to found a game at 2023 called Starfield, it is superior to whatever fraud you might call "Star Citizen" or "Squadron 42".

so we are going by "how they were advertised"? ok so i can name plenty of games that never actually released like crackdown 3 multiplayer, half life 2, cyberpunk 2077, dying light 2, bioshock infinite,

would you say those also are not games? after all they did advertise a game that was never delivered.

We are talking about making a space ship according to our taste here... Before 2024
And Star Citizen provides what... Modules that affect some parameters on engines and barely fixed the shield holes after 8 years? kekw

Arrow fighters do not clip into capital ships anymore to trigger an instant explosion? And you call that an engine? lel
Core 2022年7月16日 8時56分
You can find 20 space ships. Can you even find water in SC world? LOL
How about... How about Squadron 42? Did they speed it up even further after 7 years after its intended release date?
Core 2022年7月16日 8時57分
Are you really comparing SC to any half successful project? Be serious!

hmmm so i assume you think creation engine is garbage as well? after all you do seem to think that buggy game= bad engine

The "engine" you can't stop talking about made players Quantum Travel from "inside" the planets with a 50% chance of crashing into them for years... And nobody cared without issue council begging for thousands of votes.
Core 2022年7月16日 9時07分
You really stand no chance dude. Praise the trash you call the engine all you like with the half-a information you claim to have. It didn't work yesterday, it still does not work today.
There are only 50 people in a universe with THAT engine. What, you aren't chanting about server meshing yet? Because maybe it will not work for another decade?
Tsk tsk...

so you DO think a buggy game=bad engine? in that case creation engine must be horrible with all of the bugs in the likes of skyrim and of course, fallout 76.

Last I checked, its servers had 200ms latency on 400 million USD project.
I got CS:Go for 10 bucks and have 17ms ping.
