Not really as it makes more sense to have a character creation for open world RPGs then it does for a linear third person game.
It is literally the western trend now to have similar stunning and brave anti male protagonists. Ofcourse it was going to be a set female character. I could have guessed that before they even announced who the main character would be.
I also bet the new Splinter Cell will try to phase out Sam Phisher and replace him with a female protagonist. Just the way of the gaming industry now.
