Not really.
One year of game pass is cheaper than buying 2 games. That's hundreds of games over a year for less money than 2 games.
Every Xbox first party game is on Game Pass permanently as well. Also, if you want to buy the game it's a permanent 20% discount to purchase.
That's great value.
It's not for everyone but it certainly isn't trash.

I have a free 6 month gamepass I'm currently using and whilst it's a fun distraction it doesn't suit me. ymmv
I Prefer to "own" my games.
not to mention the "xbox" app is total trash
