As long as you are superscribed, miss one payment and bye bye games.

I have gamepass and ill still be buying Starfield. Why? Because its a game I want in my library permanently instead of renting it. Some games are worth renting and some are worth buying.

gamepass is trash

Most of the games on Gamepass are trash, or I've finished with them, and I would only play Starfield on it in any case. Better to pay for it once than forever.

Looks like at local prices I'd have 10 months before the sub cost caught up with the base price of the game here. Worth it maybe if you play a lot of the games they offer, but I'm unlikely to do that. Quite probably I will play this for many years unless it turns out to be irredeemably trash or something better in a similar setting quickly replaces it. So, I don't care about game pass. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

lets be real here, game pass is only worth to test the game before buying

Imagine trying to feel better by judging people on how they decided to spend their money.

Imagine paying $240 after only 2 years of ownership via gamepass when you could have just spent $70 once and owned it for life.

Not really.

One year of game pass is cheaper than buying 2 games. That's hundreds of games over a year for less money than 2 games.

Every Xbox first party game is on Game Pass permanently as well. Also, if you want to buy the game it's a permanent 20% discount to purchase.

That's great value.

It's not for everyone but it certainly isn't trash.
subscriptions are an anathema to me.

I have a free 6 month gamepass I'm currently using and whilst it's a fun distraction it doesn't suit me. ymmv

I Prefer to "own" my games.

How many of those games are you realistically going to play to completion within a 1 year period? Do you know how many great games on Gamepass you can buy and own forever for $100 during Steam sales??

cause if you're playing them and they're removed then you either have to buy them or buy on steam and hope you can transfer progress

not to mention the "xbox" app is total trash
