Paul Tassi Starfield review: 9.5/10
Is there anyone in the Starfield universe that you wouldn't want to be more than Paul Tassi. He got a lot of explaining to do.

He's a credited reviewer who gets paid a lot of money for his "opinion". I think it matters a little bit. He's obviously a hack and probably ethically compromised, which is more interesting considering the reach of his platform. Not sure why he hasn't been fired yet, outside of he says exactly what the industry pays him to say, but then that goes back to ethics in question surrounding his "opinion" and journalism that sounds just like him.

The world's most fair and accurate game reviewer for Forbes. LOL!

Do you remember all the white knight posts using his review to prove the game was great? LOL! "Forbes doesn't lie".

I haven't even heard the name before. I barely know (or care) about Forbes. Wasn't some Bajorian Woman on STNG a Forbes?

K, but that's not relevant to the discussion. Paul Tassi gets paid specifically a lot of money to write articles for a global online publication with his opinions on video games.

Lots of people don't play Starfield and lots of people who played it think it's ♥♥♥♥. See I can make pointless factual observations also.

I mean Roger Egbert was Big for quite a while but that doesn't mean I listened to him or Gene about what movie to see.

Some people need others to decide for them. I am not one of them, nor have I ever made money doing that.

Good for Paul that he can.
I don't have much time for Paul Tassi. He pretty much tries to capitalize on whatever the popular sentiment is at any given time.

That being said, he genuinely enjoyed Starfield and his review seemed like he was excited and really enjoyed his time with the game.

The sad part is the follow up he wrote a couple weeks later basically saying "Oh, are we hating this game now, guys? I guess I'll hate it a little too now."

He's basically the kind of reviewer trying to make a living by writing what he thinks will be popular. That's how to make a living selling articles to Forbes, but it doesn't have much integrity. Maybe it's just hard to keep that balance as a games journalist in a tough market sold by generating more clicks.

In any case, I sensed genuine happy emotion and authenticity from his original Starfield review. I wish he'd write more articles with that sort of real emotional engagement.

This is basically journalism as a whole these days, especially anything that can be considered YouTube "journalism"...

There's no such thing as integrity any more, it's all about populism... It's all about generating clicks, views and getting those advertising dollars, no more, no less...
can you replace a "professional" and well payed paul tassi with forum members who still invested 1000+ hours in this game?

he got payed for advertising the hype while the forum members probably not. they "just like or love the game" and did nothing wrong...

i just click on the steam reviews and they never cheated me as a whole...

one 200h experience example, judge for yourself:
