Future DLCs(post shattered space).
It's safe to assume this game is gonna get at some point another 1-2 shattered space equivalents down the road, single hand crafted planets with story mostly centering on said planet. Which is fine, as the game needs that.

Though I'd doubt it'd happen, but a dlc I'd like to see is one that further fleshes out the existing factions in game. Something like post content for finishing the current factions' story, then the dlc would expand on it further with a new quest chain, locations, throw in a dozen or so new hand crafted POI's tied into those quests, some new companions/ships/gear, and most importantly have choice/consequences really matter in meaningful ways.

Simple example, like for Ryujin, could have a set up where you get partnered with another agent for the duration of the questline. As you go through its story you get to know said character, their motivations/goals, then at the end of the questline present a scenario where the player has the choice to help said agent rewarding you with permanently keeping said companion for the rest of your play through as crew mate, or double crossing them, getting them killed, taking credit for everything they did and getting rewarded with a lot of credits/new player house/new ship/etc.

A dlc that adds in one new hand crafted planet is fine and good, but doesn't really entice someone to want to play through the entire game again just to see 1 planet's content, a dlc that adds substantial content to the currently existing main factions(UC, Freestar Rangers, Ryujin, Pirates, and Trackers) would merit wanting to go through a full play through to see all the new stuff. It'd also be a good opportunity to throw a few one off quests like Mantis was that are unconnected to anything else or a new location or 2 with some new side activity you can do like Red Mile was.

If shattered space ends up being really good it'll put a spotlight on some of the shortcomings of the base game being very bland in comparison, I think a dlc expac focused on expanding the faction quest lines(arguably the best part of starfield's base game, story wise at least) would help in that regard.

Odds of it happening, probably 0, but you never know since nuka world did have some interaction between the minutemen and the raiders and had some choice and consequence in it in FO4.

Alternatively a dlc about an previously uncharted system being found, then you as the player have to go in and help explore/settle/colonize it and the system becomes under territorial dispute between UC and Freestar(and possibly Pirates as well if you wanted it to go 3-ways) could be interesting as well if done right. A scenario like that would give lots of opportunities for the player to make choices then reflect the player's choices in game(by showing what faction sets up their city and outposts on the planet, has ships in orbit etc), making it feel like by the time you finished it something you did actually had an effect on the outcome/game world.

I think I'm going let the Devs decide. I've seen some of the suggestions on this forum, and, I'm not gonna lie, they do not fill me with enthusiasm for anything this shower on here would produce.

the next dlc will logically be about the starborn, the unity is still an open plot point as well. past that would likely be robot building, even mech related, and those termoph creatures.
