What does Shattered Space even add?

What all missing features and problems with the base game does it fix? If it just adds a bunch of garbage on top of an already trash game why on earth are they charging half the price of the base game for this expansion?

well there was a lot of fixes that released alongside it, but the only one i paid attention to is the mod limit being removed

New faction quest, new planet to explore, new points is interest, new enemies, new loot. Basically, more of what we love about Starfield.

Come on now, that's just being petty. It's a fair question. I'm playing this as we speak and so far I really don't know what this really adds. And it's honestly a slog to get through. I loved some of the faction missions and found them exciting... I don't know what to make of this so far... But in case I'm just too early in I'm continuing on.
