Eye of the Storm

In the "Eye of the Storm" Quest, how do I install the two devices on my ship? Every walkthrough says I should choose "Equipment" in the Shipsbuilders menu, but I cannot find that anywhere. What do I miss?

I play on a PC with controller. My ship is the Star Eagle.

Go to the ship tech, tell him you want to view and whatever your ships. Select the ship you want to use, and choose edit ship. (NOT "Upgrade", the other option.) once it loads, press G on your keyboard, that will bring up the categories, in there, select equipment, then scroll thru to find the ones you want.
