Is this game still made on their ancient engine or did they finally invest some money and made a new one?
Yea I know the drill... and they (This is only what I believe has happened so far) have been upgrading the same engine internally, so imagine an engine getting different parts replaced with better quality, better performance, better reliability, etc. and that engine currently looks almost nothing like the original on account of the fact it has been built-upon and upgraded massively to the point the old 4-cylinder is now an 8-cylinder engine with upgraded everything, and computer included. Fallout 76 looks GREAT (compared to Fallout 4/3/NV), but I do hope they went ALL-OUT on Starfield's upgrades (engine-wise).
The game is being made with Creation Engine 2, which seems like it's more or less a refurbished version of their original engine but I doubt it will be that much different functionality wise although it might have generally better performance due to taking better advantage of modern hardware.
Tangentially, Starfield will probably have HDR support for that reason.
I myself plan on getting the Alienware AW3423DW for Starfield, so I would definitely like the Ultra-wide support, but I'm not hopeful.
+! to ultrawide support
