found a work-around for weapon workbench

If you are having trouble placing the weapon bench in your ship, place the small round white coffee table slightly in front of where you want the bench, then place the workbench behind it and with a little trial and error, you can often place it in a way that is accessible.
It doesn't always work, but when it does the table can be delete (the workbench will not be counted as on top of it, even though it is, probably the same bug working in your favor) and the workbench will stay well positioned.

It is annoying, no doubt. I just add the pre-decorated workshop that includes the weapon bench. Strange they haven't fixed this yet.

They have fixed it.
You just read the fix.
Are you forgetting that this is a Bethesda game? They don’t bother fixing “little” bugs (or most big ones). They expect the users to do that for them.
