Build your own Space Station?

Some months ago there were some leaks about Space Station files being left in the Ship Builder and that there might be an update coming that would let us build our own space station.

Do you think this will still come after the shattered space disaster? I know that they plan "yearly expansions", but that was before the shattered space dlc was released.

And if it is coming, do you believe it will be free like the vehicle update, or a paid creation?

and before this gets turned into another Paid Creation discussion:
There is not really any difference, if you buy a Paid Creation made by Bethesda, or buy a small DLC like Hearthfire, if the price is the same.

The annual expansions aren't set in stone, they've already said that they'll change based on what they see fit, how people play, and what people ask for. It's more than likely that there will be another expansion next year. After that, they'll reevaluate whether to continue with expansions, updates, or other types of content. What's certain is that they'll keep adding things for years, at least in the form of updates. If it's true that there were files about the space station, it's feasible that they'll introduce it later.

It's possible that they don't have one prepared yet or that they're adjusting their expectations and plans given the negative reception to Shattered Space (despite it clearly being a decent effort on the developers part)

So perhaps they'll share a roadmap down the road. Who knows? I imagine that given the money, time, and effort already put in to Starfield that Bethesda will be eager to try and correct it as best they can.

It could be more. Such as allowing you to dock all your owned ships for display, or even allowing NPC ships to dock for 'trade' of some description. Perhaps allowing you to scrap captured ships for 'parts' to build your own ship?

There is a space station mod which works with the DLC, but it appears to have been abandoned by the mod author, so it won't be upgraded. For example, it doesn't function as an outpost or ship, so you can't add crew to it.

I don't think it would really need much effort on their part so likely they will add it probably with a $30 price tag.

I don't see the point of space station. I would rather have more settlement stuff or new space ship parts.

That would be good, i remember the leak, there were also some kind of assets related to it... That would be sooo coool
