QUESTION : About the 1st tutorial planet (Kreet ?) , encountering a tough beast and a note about outpost
Just want to confirm , when i was on kreet after killing the tutorial pirate boss and all his henchmen , i ran around having a look and see .. i saw 2 landmark icons on the horizon , one is some kind of facility and one is a cave

when i was closing on the cave theres a few dead bodies of astronauts , i looted them and i found a note about 'secret outpost' that give me a quest called mantis.. suddenly VASCO was frantically shooting at something and i saw a gigantic spider like monster coming out from the cave (terramorph ?)

Question :

1: Is this MANTIS quest doable at low level ? there is no level req on the note

2: Is this monster killable at low level (tutorial level) ? VASCO was downed in seconds and then i got killed fast (normal difficulty)

Did you read the notes in the Kreet Research Outpost? They provide hints as to what happened and why you encountered the beast that you found.

As for the Mantis, yeah it can be completed at a relatively low level. Best to continue the main questline first though before diving into the Mantis questline.

yes i read the notes on the computer in the labs.. but therer is no data on the location of the beast , all i know i got fully paranoid after reading the note but never found the beast in the base .. and only when i reach that random cave i encounter that MONSTER

Yeah it appears at a random location on the planet. It's not the same location each time. If you restart, it will appear somewhere else on the planet.

But yeah, it's the same Terrormorph that the U.C. was experimenting on in the lab. Pretty sure its the earliest opportunity to run into a Terrormorph as well! Very challenging on the higher difficulty levels too!

I did manage to kill that terrormorph, it took every bullet I had plus alot of kiting+jumping on stuff, but I did it.

Wasnt worth the loot dropped of course. I recommend avoiding it at the start but I was also playing the hardest difficulty at the time as well.

Just a ton of XP. Usually enough to give you an entire extra level just from killing it. But yeah. Keep in mind it is a low level Terrormorph. There are much stronger ones that you will find later on random planets and there is an entire planet of Terrormorphs,

Generally, I feel like the best loot is found in crates though. Sometimes you'll find good stuff on boss NPCs that you defeat. Creatures don't seem to drop any sort of rare loot. Only crafting ingredients.

I killed the terrormorph on Kreet while being level 1. I deliberately abstained from leveling for a time to get more XP (? still not sure if that's how it works).

Also, I killed it with the mining laser, because I was leveling lasers for the Level 4 laser perk.

Took some tactical movement, but it's perfectly doable. Was on one of the higher difficulties. too.

The best loot is on level 90+ Pirate and Spacer leaders in various random Pirate/Spacer locations. I used to save right before killing them, and load-scumming until a decent Legendary drops. It's an incredibly tedious and lame process, I honestly recommend using some kind of mod that makes getting Legendaries more predictable and streamlined.

The Mantis quest CAN be done at lower levels. I think I did it at like 5(?). But expect it to be rough. Level 20-30 robots in there, if I recall. You can take them out, but they will be fairly bullet spongey with what you probably have available. Really good rewards, especially for early game. So worth it, if you can do it.

You'll encounter that when you go through the game. It sounds worse than it is, but also not really as it is also the place you'll learn something else.

But yes, You ran into the Starfield Equivalent of the Deathclaw in the tutorial section, which is a random chance appearance (I've never seen it yet there I don't think)
And yes they'll spawn at random encounters soemtimes as a total surprise. I had the experience once during my mid twenties-level when I was scouting a planet for stuff, saw some ecliptic mercs, they started to fire somewhere just shy of my direction, then I got pummeled by 'that' thing...
You can call yourself a Starfield Trooper at the end of the game on at least several occasions ;) Enjoy!

Some of 'em can JUMP...... :D I learned that one the hard way.
You just don't understand the Terrormorphs. They're just love-seeking creatures :steamdeadpan: who were treated badly in the past. And now they're bitter and attack everything. You just have to treat them right.....
