Wondering
Wondering if anybody else is having this issue. The Well and Neon city has a very big studder problem. Only those areas and Sol on Mars to a small degree. I do play with mods also.

Yes I do know now how to convert esp files into esm files.

Now, how about changing esm files to esp files? Hint: It's simply changing one byte in a hex editor (at offset 08 as I recall...so it's right at the beginning of the file).

Maybe, but from what I understand with the new Creation engine, that's a big no... You should not be running .ESP's any more...

Yes. This is true. You shouldn't be running .esp files (except maybe for testing purposes). However, .esp files are useful for editing in the creation kit. Say, for example, you obtain a mod and wish to edit it. Most mods are in .esm format (as they should be). But to edit that mod (without creating a new mod) it needs to be in .esp format.

Fair enough... I haven't messed with the Creation Kit, so wasn't aware of that fact... All I knew is that .ESP's should be avoided in game...

Learnt something new...

I would be real curious WHY .esp files seem to be so problematic, if the only difference between esp, and esm, is one flipped bit......

I assumed it was something to do with the way the updated engine handled the extensions, as .ESL's are no longer a thing entirely, and instead just flags the applicable .ESM itself...
