Wondering if anybody else is having this issue. The Well and Neon city has a very big studder problem. Only those areas and Sol on Mars to a small degree. I do play with mods also.

The answer would depend heavily upon multiple factors

Resolution you are playing vs your GPU

MODS as you mentioned

PC stats, I've tried playing on an old box, no joy, even mid-range ones get the hiccups

Are you running stuff in the background? (I'm guilty of running Youtubes that way)

Are your drivers up to date?

I'm sure other people will pile on

You might try the Starfield Engine Fixes mod on the Nexus site.

The usual:

-Reasonable hardware? (If the PC isn't ancient, background programs don't matter.)

-Drivers up to date? (I've already embarrassed myself with that... xD)

-Game integrity checked via Steam? (I play without mods, but some files are still constantly corrupted. So I have to check the game data before every second participation in the Red Mile Run, because otherwise the game crashes. No idea why.)


When all that's done, make a backup copy of the saved games.
Remove all mods, try them out. Does it work? Put the first mod back in, try it out. Does it work? Put the next mod in and try it out. And so on. Until you find the culprit. That's how I would do it.

Your computer wipes the floor with my computer without breaking a sweat!^^ We can rule that out.

That leaves the drivers and the "game integrity check". (I think that's what it's called in English?).

And then, with so many mods, it's going to take a while to find the culprit!

You might want to get rid of '63 3f TLMS-SF60.esp'. Esp files are not recommended. Or you can load that mod into the creation kit and change it to an .esm file.

I understand that. But I was having my problem before the install of the esp.

drivers are good and I will do a Integrity check. Yes Load order for mods is big lol.

I converted The Den esp file (just now) to a full master esm file in creation kit and I will test it tomorrow to see if it works okay or not. I personally think it might be a fault/bug with ship builder though.

It works brilliantly and there is no more lag and Starfield is running faster now, so yes The Den esm is working perfectly. Yes I do know now how to convert esp files into esm files.

Now, how about changing esm files to esp files? Hint: It's simply changing one byte in a hex editor (at offset 08 as I recall...so it's right at the beginning of the file).
