Landing pads
I have a couple of landing pad questions. 1. Is there a way to make a flat landing pad? I mean at level with the ground. Landing pads always come out as these towering humongous structures and it is boring to climb all those stairs. I would like them to be like the landing pads you find everywhere in the game.
2. How to make your stupid ship use the landing pad? I made this beautiful pad (large variety) and it insists on landing at the "landing site" half a mile away.

2. Use the console on the landing pad and select modify your ship. That should teleport your ship to your landing pad. When trying to land, select the outpost to land.

To remove a ''landing site''. Land there, create a outpost, remove the outpost and fly away.

Thanks that worked. Still can't make them flat though.

Hmm.. well, there's a creation that gives you a landing pad rug;
"Outpost Garage + Invisible landing pad" by MillsBuilds.

It can be placed anywhere @ at an outpost, and your ship will land directly on it, so it will rest on the ground.

You can also use the "Placethere" console command, and place it directly where your cursor is pointing. If it's at an outpost, it will automatically know it's a landing pad and land your ship there without any problems.

It's how i did this;

That's my ship, on top of my outpost.

the default (no mod) pad is going to be elevated just a little to make up for not perfectly flat terrain where you put it down. At best you can have it flat at the access point, and probably elevated somewhat against the terrain in other places. Its going to be near unpossible to find a flat enough place to get it close to perfect. When you put pieces down there is a way to control their height buffer (base thickness?) but you can't lower that past the level where any part of the placed building is under ground or clipped into it. For a game that ignores clipping everywhere else, on every outfit and NPC and ship etc, it is a big stickler when it comes to placing buildings.

Well, all the landing pads I build whether small or large are huge blocks about 3-4 stories high when seen from the ground level. They seem out of place at the side of a humble outpost that might be a single module with a couple of mining thingies and a few solar generators.
But when you find landing pads in the game at a POI or a town, they are at ground level. I wish the pads could be moved up and down like the airlock/ladders, habitation modules or the observatory. Also other items should have that functionality, for example solar arrays are always half sunk in the ground when you place them, I would like to be able to pull them up when placing them so the base can be clear of the ground.

And why is the base building area circular, when the majority of building parts have a square footprint? The above suggestion would solve this as well.
