Hello Games vs Bethesda Softworks
No Man's Sky just released Worlds part I update and with that they just reached over 80% positive reviews on Steam and became Very Positive for the first time since launch. Hello Games never charged a single dime and launched numerous DLC sized updates for 8 years. By all means, they deserved it.

Meanwhile it took Bethesda 8 months to introduce micro transactions (a.k.a. paid mods) to their already %40 Mixed rated game and charge $7 (you have to buy $10 points) for single quest.

Humility vs Pride
Generosity vs Greed
Competence vs Incompetence

Hello Games aren't a humongous unionized AAAA studio. Maybe why it took eight years to finish their game.

We are witnessing the downfall of triple a games before our very eyes. Its hard to complain with all these amazing small indie studios picking up the slack at a fraction of the cost though. I'm officially a fan of No Man's Sky now.
Its really no surprise we are seeing the more talented developers going to small game studios.

Dead Space remake and Mass Effect Legendary edition both have like 89% overall according to SteamDB.

So according to OP, EA Games has the best business model for consumers. Go out and buy that new Madden game!

right....

What a world we live in! Back in my day we had to do all the thinking and liking by ourselves. Nowdays, you have website and what not telling you a game score is 89%! You don't even have to waste one though anymore thinking for yourself! Just use your eyeballs and Buy it!

BGS is too big of a studio not to. Hello Games can likely pay all of their employees for a year on the revenue from the sale of roughly 50k-75k full priced copies (they only have somewhere between 25-40 employees and average pay for game developers is significantly lower across the board in the UK compared to the US) and they've sold over 10 million copies of NMS so they can easily afford not to charge for updates. BGS has to sell close to a million copies of Starfield at full price just to generate enough revenue to cover their employee's salaries for a single year.

And that matters to the consumers in what way...? MS is a trillion dollar company lol, lets not feel sorry for them... Im sure they afford to give away a few expansions if they wanted to...

It matters because the consumers should learn not to be selfish children, expecting something for free when other humans are putting hard work and effort into that something. It's called having empathy, maybe someday you'll develop some.

Not quite - NMS surpassed what was originally promised years ago...

MS is a trillion dollar company - they could afford it no issues...

So are oil companies but that doesn't stop them charging the consumer extortionate prices and paying their bosses huge bonuses. Welcome to corporate greed.
