Creation mods and vortex
So does anyone know if I can load creation mods with Vortex? To be clear, I mean load them on Vortex and install them with Vortex and start the game with Vortex?

No. They will be "unmanaged." The game itself handles Creations.

You can use both creations and vortex at the same time, but you have to install them both their usual ways.

You can still start the game with Vortex no problem though. Creations will still work.

Every time I even looked at creations it changed my mod order, disabled mods and broke my game. I'm not going anywhere near creations ingame again if I can help it.

Let me see if I understand. So start a new game thru steam, add creations, close the game and restart it with Vortex and all my creation mods will be there?

Yes. I 100% never use a creation or open their mod menu for this very reason. If I could tape a cardboard strip over it, I would.

Yup correct. They both can work together. At least as long as you aren't running conflicting mods.

And if you're not running any mods that use SFSE, it really doesn't matter which way you launch the game. If you are running mods that use SFSE, then you'll want to vortex or the sfse loader.

All the really cool mods use SFSE tho. Thankks for the info!

So far I'm only using creation mods, a lot are on both creation and Nexxus. I haven't found one on Nexxus I *really* want that wasn't also on Creations. When that day comes I'll try it out.

But you can run into mod conflicts using only one or the other. I've had plenty of mod conflicts with modded Skyrim and Fallout 4.

I don't know how that can be. I've seen the creations mods and the really good mods need address library and SFSE. Those you will never see on creations unless Bethesda changes the rules.

Look up SFSE on nexus and there's a list of hundreds of mods that require it. Some things just can't be done without a script extender. As I understand it, creations can't require other mods. Maybe SF is different from Skyrim or the Fallout games and you don't a script extender to do really cool stuff but I know in those, when the script extender came out it was a big deal.

i use both and dont have any problems. i do remember on fallout how the cc would disable some vortex mods but you can always go to the cc store and check your load order to make sure they weren't unchecked. but again i use both and haven't had any problems so far. i guess like previously stated as long as you don't conflict, you'll probably be ok.

So if you start your game thru steam, how do the mods in vortex get loaded? Twice I've looked thru creations and both times it changed my load order without permission, disbled mods and broke my game. Both times it took a couple of hours to fix it.
I've been modding games, as in using not creating mods, for many years. I've used Vortex since it released and I'v never had any problems I couldn't fix easily.
I've been waiting for SF mods like they had for Skyrim and Fallout. Where are the Inigo mods, the Legend of the dragonborn, Moonpath or Enderal mods?
As empty as SF is, you'd think there'd be all sorts of follower, POI, Planet and quest mods but I've seen little of those. Such a shame.

im not 100% sure on here but in fallout what i do remember when i had a similar problem after getting a collection from vortex, if you look at your load order in cc you should be able to see them there unchecked (if cc is unchecking them) then you can just reactivate them there and move it around there. but like i said i never had that problem in starfield but i suggest even if your game works if you read your mod descriptions and they say launch from sfse then you should always do that to avoid problems because missing a launcher or dependency will also cause this i just got back to starfield and it looks like it probably should've at launch and this is a year later. so my monies on at least another year for us to see in depth mods like what's in skyrim. i dont blame modders, imagine making a whole new follower system or something as complex just for a dlc to be released that changes almost everything.

This is exactly what Bethesda planned. They do not want gamers downloading mods from Nexus. They want a monopoly on mods. And they've almost got it. When was the last time Bethesda released the "creation kit" for Bethesda owned modders before they released it to all modders? This is the first time. The greedy corpos took what made Skyrim and Fallout great and ripped the heart out of it. Modding those games is what has kept them alive and made them still top sellers today.
Starfield will never see that benefit but the corpos are too blinded by greed to understand what they've done.

What are you even talking about? A few modders got the CK earlier, for testing/QA purposes, then it was released into the wild.

The problem with creations/beths site is, they don't have the faintest idea what they are doing. They will never be able to completely monopolize the modding scene, they don't know how. When beth first set up there site, I was surprised that a multi-million dollar company did such a crappy job. Three teenagers with a zero dollar budget have done better. And it has only gotten worse over time. Beth seems to insist on making EVERY rookie mistake possible for a new hosting site. They SUCK at it. :D Doesn't matter what beth/MS does, they will never be able to monopolize mods. That, and they know they would essentially be cutting their own throats.
