Andreja romance

The Andreja romance needs to change. I made a character that has the Varuun background, wondering what a romance between the two would look like. There's like....one dialogue in the entire game where you can tell her that you're Varuun....and the rest of the time she treats you like you're not.
If it requires bringing the actress back to record new voice lines, then that's what they should do (though they really should have thought about it in the first place!). It isn't game-destroying. But it IS immersion-damaging. Her explain House Varuun traditions as if I didn't know already.

Interesting point. I haven’t tried that background. I’m wondering if you are still an outsider that has adopted their teachings? Or does the background specify if you went on a pilgrimage, like Andreja?

I could see one being more immersion breaking than the other. A single line doesn’t sound like much either way. There is a whole conversation you have with her if you have different religions where she is worrying about your soul when the Great Serpent comes. I wonder if that’s just gone, because I would expect it to be replaced by something.

Don't the Varuun even attack their own if they think someone is not devoted enough?

I think there is more than one faction within house Va'Ruun..... the zealots, and everyone else. :D It's the zealots that are the militant wing. Everyone else seems perfectly happy to go their own way, and leave the galaxy to do as it will... Notice, you don't encounter anyone OTHER THAN zealots when you are out and about. Aside from their Ambassador, they all seem more interested in killing you, than anything else.

You would. But you'd be mistaken. She has the exact same conversation....with someone who told her he's House Varuun. Literally the only time it's different with this background is when she first tells you she's Varuun. Then you get to choose the Serpent's Embrace-line, and she does react to it then.....
But never again. At least not until now and I've romanced her all the way to commitment, and am about to have to choose between whether to save her or Sam....
And for the first time I have trouble choosing! Because one...she's my wife. What kind of man would I be if I left her to die? But second.....I can't stop thinking of poor Cora...

That was an aside I just had to get off my chest, lol. And that part works as intended I assume.

I have a similar problem with NG+ and how you can fly around on a Starborn ship and none of your companions question it.

Oh, wait, you can tell her superior at the space station that you're Varuun too by mentioning how the Great Serpent frowns on treason, as well.....and even THAT doesn't elicit a reaction from Andreja

LOL, just got back to New Atlantis after having been to the Eye to talk to Vladimir after Sam got killed. And the first thing that happens when I get off the NAT? This janitor NPC goes "I have a feeling today's gonna be a great day"...right after the Starborn has massacred a quarter of the city! :D :D

LOL, just got the part where you question the Varuun prisoner in UC Security, and can use the Serpent's Embrace-dialogue choice too....and Andreja's response?

Could be the janitor is the same janitor from Hotline Miami. The one that loves seeing everyone getting murdered.

Yeah that's what i was afraid of so I didn't pick that background with the way Bethesda sometimes misses immersion opportunities like that.

At Andreas funeral (because I reloaded the save. Just couldn't get myself to do that to Cora), you have a chance to "talk to her" after everyone has said their dysfunctional pieces.
And the option you get with that background?
"The Great Serpent has devoured you. As is fitting".
What the actual fudge? :D

Definitely never choosing THIS background again. It breaks immersion so bad it's not even amusing

There's no Va'ruun background. You can get serpent worshipper trait, but you are still an outsider.

Also it's a bit bugged, she doesn't gets the flags right. There is a mod, that fixes them (flags simply double unchecking instead of choosing the correct one).
