About the Mantis suit
Why does it look like a rejected star wars mandalorian wannabe design?, it's hideous and I'd never wear it

Then don't wear it.

Not to mention that it was clearly designed exclusively for the female body shape and looks like absolute trash on male characters. Not that it looks great on female characters either, 'underwhelming' is probably the least unkind thing I'd say, but it looks REALLY borked on men. I usually just junk it in the stash closet in my room in the Lodge. Or I used to. Now I have a recycling mod. Bring on the resources!

There are numerous replacers for the mantis suit. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the vanilla suit.... That is just friggin' fugly.

Nah it was clearly designed to look like trash on anyone equally of any gender.
At least the fallout superhero suits had purposeful silly factor (ANTagonist, Mechanist, etc)

I never use any of it. Including the ship.

I've only tried one replacer so far. It looks like it was designed by some 12-year-old edgelord. Which makes it far, far better than the original. Still not really very satisfying. They should've just used the Starborn Tempus armor or something and written the Mantis as a Starborn who for some reason was reborn too early in the timeline and the technology to find the Artifacts wasn't available so she had to live out her life htere.

I do use the ship because, 1, it's a ship frame I can get early in the game that isn't the Frontier and I don't have to pay credits for and 2, the Spacer reactions are funny. And useful until I get the ship upgraded to the point where it can actually fight.

I like the helmet, rest of the suit not so much, but the ship I used all over my first playthrough. Spacer reactions to it arr hilarious.

And you get the same reactions no matter how you change it. You can completely delete all the parts and rebuild it into a dreadnought with exclusively Stroud modules and still get the reactions.

To be fair, the previous Mantis was a woman.
Looks much better with a texture replacer.

I gave it to Barrett. They deserve each other.

Its true. The only thing that could enhance the Mantis suit is Dad jokes.

For Replacers

Currently using

Mantis Suit - Vigilante
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/5271

I was using following mod in the Pre-CK with multiple options but It just doesn't feel the same. Still good.

KZ Mantis 2.0
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/8814

You can also find some replacers which will match other suits.

bad looking armour in a game is such a turn off

(i feel sorry for those people esp Matthew Smith et all that have to wear that crap fey looking armour in the new(er) GoT show. Why did no one say um, no that looks crap?)).

The mantis was a scientist that's why it has a long white dress. The starborn outfits look more hideous.
