Install a module to get a Rover???
No thanks. I'll walk. It is already a pain in the backside to use the ship builder in this game. I use a modified Pterosaur III and made it a C class. Love the look. But I shouldn't have to install another module that most likely won't fit anywhere on the ship and look pleasing. (assuming the game doesn't give out a half baked excuse on why it's should have to follow instructions) Don't get me wrong. I am glad the game has a rover now. But the implementation is lacking. It's not the only time the Dev's had a laps in judgement. Having to revisit places you have already been to or the big middle finger to you on fast traveling to places. Likes stores and what not. Comes to mind.

So maybe complain about something real...

You do not have to modify your ship to get the rover. You simply select the menu option to purchase one. That's all.

Really confusing post

There is no ship module related to the rover, it spawns next to your ship (assuming you own it).

Definately wrong info you got there OP - you go to a shipdealer, buy the rover, that's it. It's even in the official loading screens and the initial announcement.

I actually wish the rover did require a module...but alas you actually don't need one. You just talk to a ship specialist, buy it and it spawns next to your ship whenever you land somewhere. No module required.

I can agree to this. I sort of understand why it was done as it was but it would be a bit more realistic if we had a rover bay on the ship.

To be fair, there was mention at one point about a rover bay module or something like that, before it was actually released. Quick google search didn't show a source so it may well have been youtuber speculation, so I could see how people who haven't looked at the game for a while might make that mistake.

But then, it's a bit shortsighted to post a complaint about it without at least looking first.

Hilarious that people complain now without even booting up the game to see if they have something to complain about.

"Ready to head out in the REV-8? Visit your favorite city’s ship technician to install a vehicle module and you’re good to go!" is the Dev's exact words. On the game's page no doubt.

Yeah its misleading. Nothing is added, your ship is safe.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, my problem happens to be more related to the rover actually getting ACTIVE, because I can buy the rover, but it wont set it or let me set it as ACTIVE.

Any idea which specific mod is causing this issue?

I did try once with one character to test and see, but apparently the issue is related to more than one creation/mod....

Considering they just updated most of the creations this past weekend, I'm not sure which mod/creation is the issue now... No desire to go through 5+ characters games to ferret out the possible at fault mods...

So, if someone has a good idea which specific one it is causing the activation issue, let me know. Thank you.

The problem is that there's several possible culprits. People have reported a few that I've never installed, such as the one for smooth ship crosshairs, some outpost mods, and the community patch.

However, after you have purchased and activated the vehicle, it's safe to re-enable your mods, it seems. So you could disable everything, buy the vehicle, then re-enable.

There's also a mod to address this, but I've not tested it:

what module? it sits pretty outside your ship after buying it from the ship yard technician in new Atlantis

You can also buy it from your own landing pad with shipbuilder.

Personally I believe it should have been necessary to install a garage hab, or one of the large HopeTech landing bays, in order to deploy the rover...

It would have been alot more realistic, and I'm hoping someone does create a mod along these lines...
