Ready to head out in the REV-8? Visit your favorite city’s ship technician to install a vehicle module and you’re good to go! Once you have the module in your ship of choice, the REV-8 will automatically deploy right outside your ship wherever you land. You can even show off your personal style by customizing the REV-8 with unique colors.
I don't remember doing that; I just got the buggy and it appears next to the ship when I get out after landing.
I don't think a "module" is the same as a "bay".
I think the name is meaningless, really, cuz you buy a buggy, you have a buggy; the explanation is just handwavium and technobabble.
At least, that's been my experience; certainly nothing new and visible was installed on my ship.
Buggy bay was my own wording lol, all ship rooms are module's I was just going by what the notes say. I havent tried it out yet as I need SFSE to update for my mods to work so cant get into game yet. But tbh, the way I read that is you need a " vehicle module" (aka Buggy Bay :) ) installed on yer ship to use the buggy. But like I said I cant get ingame yet,
And I think "Buggy Bay " just sounds better :)
Clarification accepted.
To be perfectly honest, I thought we were going to have to install a vehicle bay hab for this thing, and I was not looking forward to disrupting my custom design to accommodate it. I just got this ship perfect... mostly... and I would have hated to have to re-org everything. (**phew**)
It really is as simple as going to the technician, paying a few measly creds (well... "measly" to a multi-millionaire like me), and you have a vehicle.
Ooh, come to think of it, SFSE not being updated yet is probably why the "My Vehicles" section of the Flight Services attendant points to shield generators and weapons rather than vehicles; I bet it would work if I unmodded everything.
I think it's just the people who use mods who are having issues.
