Interact button not working

Like the title says, I can't interact with any objects at all ever since the last update. I have over 100 hours with mods where everything was completely fine but all of a sudden my interact button doesnt work. I tried disabling mods, rebinding the interact button, plugging a controller with no success. Does anyone know a way I can fix this, the game is quite literally unplayable for me at the moment.

I have no mods installed and neither A nor X let me interact with anything, even if I just use keyboard. E and R don't work either. I can't get on my ship, cant interact with any NPC, can't do anything. but I CAN hit accept on menus. I verified files, confirmed I have no active mods, re-loaded half a dozen times, loaded different saves. Unfortunately I'm at a loss. Leave it to Bethesda to give me a rover and then brick my game in the process. Just when they reel me back in; they literally make their game unplayable. & this took them a year to do lol Guess I'll go buy Black Myth: Wukong after all. thanks Bethesda!

I am having the same issue. I've opened a ticket with Bethesda support. I have over 800 hours in the game. I hope they fix this issue before Shattered Space drops.

These are the 5 mods we know of so far
that are causing the issue with activation/interaction key

What do they all have in common? They all Contain gfx files

I am curious what those mods have in common, that breaks the game with the update. I would think that a simple patch for it could solve the issue????

Would need a functioning version of xedit though... any word on that?

Same issue. "E" key not working. Used MOD2 and even on complete vanilla game (no creations) same issue.
Have a ticket into Bethesda and they have bumped it up to higher levels. I've verified files, reinstalled the game and Steam. Nothing works thus far

So if you're using MO2 then you are running mods?!

I had the same issue and i solved it:
- Delete all files but "Save" folder in "Documents/My Games/Starfield"
- Reinstall the game.

Zero mods, same issue. Can't even start a new game to fix since it just won't let me interact with anything, including people. Controller or keyboard.

lol, can't interact with anything. Can't open doors, talk to anyone. Tried remapping keybinds. Did a 100% re-install. Video drivers up to date. No mods installed. Nothing. Busted.
