the game is meant to be played either with a controller or with a keyboard and mouse. that is why is has settings for both. fandom is lame
Or we could play with what has existed on PC since before controllers were a thing... /shrug

I think you'll find simple joysticks and mice predate controllers...
Yeah, no... Should really be a matter of choice...
Any car game worth it's salt will generally have KB for car control, mouse to look around, or control any turrets, etc...
Otherwise, let the player choose how they control the vehicle...
The absurd part is that there is a choice in the settings but instead of mouse steering on/off, it is mouse steering or mouse acceleration. if you choose the one with mouse steering off, mouse swaps w and s depending on where you are looking. who does that work for?

I guess we can all thank Microslop for insisting that everything has to be developed with the XBox in mind, as Bethesda clearly have forgotten their oldest supporters are PC gamers...
