No i think the game is pretty bad actually. The game also has no soul or identity. There's way better shooters, way better base-builders, way better narrative games, and way better exploration games out there, that are actually fun.
Just needed to vent? or what?
Just leave a review. Oh wait.. you dont own it on steam. Maybe go leave a review on whatever platform you played it on.
No. The game play loop for end game is hot trash. Makes me glad I dropped it after 40 hours. I would have been livid to get to the end and realize all my explorations, surveys, and companionship quests, ship building, outposts were all pointless. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on Todd and Bethesda to lock content behind NG+. So much for exploring and playing the game how you want
When you get to NG+ all the surveys, money, base and ship building/customization is wiped when you enter the new universe. You keep your level, powers, and skills. You can refuse to do NG+ but you miss out on story and content.
The ending of Starfield is literally the ending of No Man's Sky, except in No Man's Sky you get to keep everything you worked for thus far and can even go back to the previous universe.
And the best part? You need to do the NG+ 10 times to get the best armor and ship.
Like you have to try to enjoy to fit entire Todd when you play NG++++++++++++++
I had 0 expectations of this game. I followed none of the marketing outside of the announcement a few years ago at E3. I found it on the game pass and said "oh wait, I remember this title." Then downloaded it.
I was bored to tears. The game made me feel like I was on auto pilot and I was more interested in my girlfriends new Sim she made than the story I was playing.
I mean why shouldnt he? If all he is seeing is crap, then why shouldnt he say that its crap?
We expected Skyrim in space, their marketing said Skyrim in space, we did not get Skyrim in space. This is a really shill take.
The game is bad. There are some cool things with it, but it's obvious the lead director was focused on other subjects than producing a Fun game. I can make a list with 20 core features that are entirely flawed with this game.
Being that people feel the need to "defend" it is more concerning than someone not liking it. The people who don't like it are simply expressing the shortcomings whereas those defending it are trying to encourage people to purchase it. I could care if people purchase it, it's available through XBOX Game Pass which is a pretty good deal if you play a variety of games on a regular basis. I am glad I did not buy Starfield.
High Expectations!?! What the heck is that, some kind of troll? Oooh, I'm the bad person because I was looking for interactive entertainment and I was unable to accept the numerous flaws and bugs with the game. I'm the big dummy because I should instantly like it for no other reason than to not dislike it. pfh.
If I were quantify it, which I am not doing here, I would be hard pressed to rate this game another a 45-55 out of a 100 score. There's just too many issues with poor design choices or outright lacking necessary features.
My expectations were my own. They were not influenced by marketing or fandom. My expectations are quite simple. This game fails at most of the core features that make a game fun.
It is pretty, kind of, but not entirely. I tried. The game is boring as heck.
