UC Vigilance missing - workaround.
As we all know, a Bethesda game wouldnt be a Bethesda game without its game breaking glitches and bugs.. Especially one like this thats been reported for months and has not been fixed..
For anyone having the issue with missions like "The best there is", where the UC Vigilance is not spawning where it is meant to, is not at the marker provided or is not at any of its previous spots - 1: Aranae 2A, 2: Procyon B, 3: Phobos or 4: The key - (Anyone responding, please fill in any missed possibly locations to check).

A version for if you care about getting achievements afterwards and if you do not. -

1) If you do NOT care about achievements - open console by pressing ' and type
player.moveto 0000D350
This will teleport you onto the vigilance, but disable your achievements...

2) If you DO care about getting achievements - go to Nexus mod manager, download "Baka Achievement Enabler", "Address library for SFSE plugins" and "Starfield Script Extender". Follow the video tutorial on how to manually install them and run it. Once your game is up and running, follow step one and type the command. Once you load into the ship, perform a quick save and check through "load game" to see if you have the "C" separate save, meaning your achievements are disabled. If you do not and its just another save in your save list, you're good to go!

I had to go on a 2 hour research read, install stuff and learn how to mod to get around this game breaking bug.. Nice job Bethesda.. As always.. But the modded fix worked for me, after exhausting the other options ^^

Don't forget you also need the address library.

Made the post edit, thank you very much for the reminder! Not sure how I forgot that one.

Thank you for this. I just got stuck in exactly the same way and the moveto trick solved it for me. Hopefully my save doesn't have the achievements disabled, all looking good so far.

Thank you very much. I had the same problem a little while ago and managed to solve it using a console command.

Before you use any command, try jumping to other systems and coming back and pay attention to what the quest marker says. I did the quest last week and after exiting the system and coming back the Vigilance was there but 37km away from my ship.

I solve this problem. If you finish the main mission and restart the game, you have a different ship. This ship can go 710 speed when push boost. Go to phobos and rush there. After the a few boost the uc vigilance ship appear. It is 77 km ahead. And rush there.

you dont need to reset your game though, you can just fly and find the UC vigilance on your current playthrough. As you said it most likely spawned very far away if you can't find it immediately.
ugh im expierencing this now lol

Same. I tried all of the suggestions and after a full day of it gave up and went with the moveto command. Don't need no stinking achievements anyway.

or instead of Baka Achievement enable and SFSE you can just use an Achievement Enabler mod like this one which has no requirements;

Starfield Achievement Enabler
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1402

does the job well.

(you'll still need to perform the steps OP lays out of course. but you won't need to install 3 mods to keep achievements working)
