This type of mod is quite easy to make so you shouldn't have any trouble. There are various youtube tutorials covering this type of thing.
I have z brush and clip studio but have never created a mod. I guess I'll start by making spacesuit color schemes.
I can say that Legendary mod recycler helps with appearance. If you find something with legendary mods you like but you don't like the gear you can then install them into what you do like.
