I need some advice for crimes I committed
So, I decided to be a prick and be a bit unlawful in Starfield. I was carrying contraband and got caught and refused to turn myself in. Fought for a bit before escaping.

The issue is I have around a 300k bounty for my crimes and I every time I try to go to Jemison or any of the systems where I have the bounty I get attacked on sight. I get a prompt for a "hail" but then it gets cut short and I get attacked until my ship blows up.

Is there any work around for this?

Reload your save or pay off your bounty.

Bummer. I am many hours past since when I first initially did that. Also, I can't afford to pay it off or else I would have.

I really wish there was a system where I could turn myself in at one of the terminals and serve time in a jail cell. Why isn't that a feature in Starfield? As I recall in previous Bethesda games there was always an option to turn yourself in and serve your time.

There’s probably a console command you could use to wipe bounties or get credits. Or one of the mods that gives you credits.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I was trying to avoid that. I've been playing vanilla and trying to get my achievements before attempting that. I will see what I can come up with.

Thanks again

Get a good lawyer and don't answer any questions from police.

Hell the bounties are hard coded in one mission where you have to get an artifact from a guy. Do the mission peacefully or turn the guys ship into space dust. You get a bounty. A shaft move by Bethesda. Jemison is manned by telepaths (if you blow the guys ship up) I swear.

They have added the option to build the bounty's board in our ship.

So, exit the system where you are "hunted" then pay your bounty clearance.

Handy in some situations ... .

I guess I'm totally screwed. I can't land anywhere because as I enter out of fast travel I get attacked on sight. No ship repair kits, over 300k bounty and I only have around 50k.

Amazes me how stupid this mechanic is. I cant land anywhere because I am constantly in combat as soon as i get scanned. Would be cool if I could just submit and go to jail, but apparently there is no options to do that somehow in this, and if there is I am not getting a prompt for it. Really sucks

Make a basic hab with a door outside of Faction systems . Place a bounty board. Remove bounty. Bounties are per Faction, meaning UFC bounties do not carry over to Freestar Collective.

You never need to visit faction space to make bases. Everything can be found in the game.

Oh gee, the criminal is now up in arms because the cops are on to him???? Say it ain't so.

Do you have a bounty in freestar space as well? If not, then just run some missions from there, to make enough money to pay off your bounty. Or, just do some exploring, maybe survey some planets, (don't need an actual mission to do so.) Raid some POI's, then go to The Den, and see it all. You can make 300K in a few days doin' that.

I was honestly hoping I could just turn myself in? Like previous BGS games. You could go crazy in towns, rack up fines, and then just be apprehended by a guard and serve your time. In this game I just get attacked everywhere, no prompts, nothing, nada.

You don't have to be snarky towards me. Its not about me being up in arms about the space cops being on to me, wise ass. There is no option for me to simply turn myself in and serve my time. You know, like in every other BGS game.

You can turn yourself in when the bounty is not large. Once it reaches a certain threshold its no longer possible. Not sure what the actual threshold is, anyone?

Even in Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, if your bounty is large enough, you are 'kill on sight'. I am thinkin' that 300K certainly qualifies there.... I only got a 16,500 bounty for blowing up a freestar ship.... (accidentally at that....)

DO you have a bounty in freestar space as well? If you do, then you are likely screwed..... But, keep in mind, you DID do it to yourself. This is NOT the games 'fault'. Even in 'real life', if you piss off enough people, (especially those in positions of power) you are highly likely to end up dead. :D
