Help please. Selling from Cargo Hold doesn't work.
Hi everyone,

I wanted to explore the Flora and Fauna of the planet New Atlantis is on. So I landed somewhere in the wilderness and discovered a landed spacer ship. I had fought them before, so they were hostile, and I captured the ship.

Then I went back to New Atlantis because I had forgotten to sell stuff from my Frontier's cargo hold. But now I have a problem. Whenever I go to a vendor, I get offered the empty hold from my Spacer ship to sell from. I left that ship in said wilderness though, trusting I could summon it later as it was hinted at in some texts I found on the web.

I don't get the option to summon the ship to the spaceport either.

How do I fix this mess? At least that I can sell from the Frontier again?

Go to the ship tech and select a new home ship.

Any time you steal a ship you should take off in it and go to a port. That way you know the game will set the home ship and transfer inventory.

Go to the space port, talk to the ship tech, change your Home ship. (if it isn't the frontier), exit the convo, then, go back in, and change it back to the frontier. Theoretically, if you change home ships, your cargo should move to the new ship as well. I have seen occasions where it wouldn't, but, that's a bug.... and your cargo is simply gone..... Thought that one got patched out though....

I can't select the new ship there, there I get the Frontier shown as only ship in my possession. It also still has the cargo, I just can't sell it from its hold anymore.

I didn't change home ship because I didn't want to at that point. I just didn't want to pass up on a free ship. So I'd have to find it again if I can, set it as home and then return to the spaceport? Is that even possible? I hope the location is marked on the map because I have no idea.

That means that you never completed the steps needed to get the ship fully transferred.
I always take off and go to port in the new ship and have never had an issue.

If the ship is still on the map you might be able to fast travel back to it.

Thank you, but I already loaded when I read this. I had tried selling my stuff directly afterward and had saved before the capture, so I could just do it right now. Ship registry fee ... probably the game's way of making sure you can't get rich fast like that.

Yeah, that was a design decision I really did not agree with. Registration fee is 85% of the value of the ship, but, you sure don't get to sell it for that.

If they wanted to make making money from stolen ships harder, there are better methods.....

I only steal ships for the novelty, I agree it isn't a credit worthy task. There are much better ways to stack credits.

Indeed..... I tend to stagger out of POI's, weighted down by all the loot I am carrying. :D Guns are worth some serious bucks, even at the crappy rates you get for them.
