Any time you steal a ship you should take off in it and go to a port. That way you know the game will set the home ship and transfer inventory.
I can't select the new ship there, there I get the Frontier shown as only ship in my possession. It also still has the cargo, I just can't sell it from its hold anymore.
I didn't change home ship because I didn't want to at that point. I just didn't want to pass up on a free ship. So I'd have to find it again if I can, set it as home and then return to the spaceport? Is that even possible? I hope the location is marked on the map because I have no idea.
Hmm ... okay, I'll see what I have. Thank you.
That means that you never completed the steps needed to get the ship fully transferred.
I always take off and go to port in the new ship and have never had an issue.
If the ship is still on the map you might be able to fast travel back to it.
Thank you, but I already loaded when I read this. I had tried selling my stuff directly afterward and had saved before the capture, so I could just do it right now. Ship registry fee ... probably the game's way of making sure you can't get rich fast like that.
If they wanted to make making money from stolen ships harder, there are better methods.....
I only steal ships for the novelty, I agree it isn't a credit worthy task. There are much better ways to stack credits.
