You can, its aka outpost building.
Empukris Apr 10, 2024 @ 9:59pm
You can actually, even without mods. Although knowing how messy the outpost is, not many people bother with that. But I saw view people post their masterpiece online. The only thing this game is good at is that it really doesnt looks bad.

People have been speculating it's part of the upcoming DLC.

Skyrim and FO4 did this kinda stuff as DLC, so yes makes sense.
There's a bunch of space station parts in the ship builder that's locked out to the player, now this could simply be that space stations are in essence just immobile ships which I can believe, it's a smart way to build something easily within a system in the game. So there MIGHT be a plan for players to build their own station, that said I'd rather it be different then settlement building, maybe since kinggath has been working with Bethesda I'd like if there was a official sims settlements kinda thing in Starfield and I feel space stations would be good for this

or they'll just use a different kind of spaceship habitat module that's only used for space stations.

I think there are a lot of possibilities. Even without offical DLC Modders will make it happen. They have already, just shaky without official tools.

Gywidion is correct, I just hope that they don't add to save bloat. Outpost building works out brilliant for me, It just takes getting used to it. Then it is actually really simple. I'm sure the same will be true for space stations.

I like OP's idea.

Space stations do exist in game. And no, outposts aren't space stations. :) And I built one myself. It's done by launching an Orbital Platform (from an outpost), and it will create the space station for you, as an extra 'ship' in the ship builder. You can customize it, with M- and other parts, and it's fully dockable, and in space!

This is closer to the truth than you may think. They're very much like the UC Vigilance ship. They're called 'orbitals', and are primarily meant for stationary purposes (even though you can actually fly the UC Vigilance, with some effort).

Build one yourself!

Not even Darth Vader could build a good space station... It blew up, twice!

What hope has Lord Todd got in delivering one?

there was an early bug where you could fly various space stations so its in the code somewhere. I assume it will be dlc

It'll hopefully be a DLC somewhere down the line, or a mod. I agree, it would be nice.

Haven't tried this one yet, but looks really good

I mean, they couldn't even give us frigate or battlecruiser class ships, let alone orbital bombardment capabilities. I would be shocked if they let us have space stations. That would be too much fun.
