How short sighted are some people?
1,000+ hours lv 170. The main story line was a let down but it counts for less than 0.000001% of the potential longevity of this truly great game that Bethesda have created

(Remember that Bethesda do not make, and Starfield is not intended to be, a flight simulator) Realism dictates that flying between planets even with a grav drive (or even something that would fold space and time) would take lots of time for even the shortest trip. But once on a planet, the loading screens that are a necessary part of any realistic current attempt at flight simulation are not relevant

For me one of the biggest positives of the game is not the often stunning graphics, and the well crafted flora and fauna, or the few faction quests (most of which are interesting) or the POI (all well crafted but limited quantity) or far more planets containing life than our current knowledge of the universe would allow us to believe, or the fact that Starfield was far less buggy than any previous Bethesda release (Bugs to content ratio).

The biggest positive is the fact that many of the 1000 or more satellites (planets, moons, etc.) are all perfectly presented and accessible via a well crafted game, and so each of them is perfect for a DLC size and quality mod

I expect an explosion of top quality DLC from the top end of the established modding community

Yes. Once the creation kit is available, I am guessing there will be an impressive amount of interesting mods.

There are several folks working out how to ADD planets/systems to the map as well... Probably be a LOT easier once the CK drops.... (c'mon beth, we WANT the CK....) There is a great deal of potential in this game. I am very much looking forward to what the modders will come up with. :D

As long as Bethesda does not abandon the game after a DLC or two I have no doubt it will be great. As it is now it is basically No Man Sky. 1.0

I don't understand why folks keep saying "this is not a flight sim" when I've never once seen anyone say they wanted a flight sim LOL

But there is almost no flying around, not at all what one would expect when traveling to 1000 planets haha

There have been quite a few folks here complaining about it not being a flight sim.

The OP is absolutely correct, This game is full of content and immersion. I have over 2200 hours in and still play it everyday. I still every once in a while get surprised by something I had not noticed before. The fun and entertainment just never ends. I really feel sorry for the complainers out there who seem incapable of recognizing Starfields Brilliance.

The game is called Starfield, yet piloting a ship to travel between planets and explore is the worst part of the game, GG Bethesdoh.

you say that as if it is fact. I disagree. I love the space travel in starfield.

Although you can travel between stars, using your super,-duper, starborn derived grav drive. perhaps that's why it's called Starfield, or perhaps not. I'm only pontificating.

It's totally subjective.

But it's not "traveling" it's hovering in place.

A NMS space exploration system probably would have been better received, but not really the point of this thread.

I agree, I think modders will do some crazy stuff with this game once CK is out. Looking forward to seeing it.

So the ISS (space station) is hovering?

They used to keep the training modules (and other paraphernalia) for the ISS just down the street from a house I sold a few years ago. Good sized round modules. They also had a few generators, air scrubbers, suits and capsules.
