You'll be waiting a while.
For Steam the general rule is winter, spring, summer, and fall.
With the expansion not coming for several months, you'll probably want the game before that. Which means you'll be waiting for the summer sale.
I'm sure that you won't have the patience for that. No gamer would.
Just buy the damn thing. Make sure that you get the Digital Premium Edition because if you have already researched this game, and you're certain that you'll enjoy it, you'll definitely want the expansion.
Most people that have thoroughly completed Starfield want Shattered Space now.
The snide remark may come from a sentiment that 'sales' in a no scarcity environment cannot exist.
A see a few comments here and there popping up about it across social media and I hope it will trend.
Sales in video gaming and on non physical content have no place. There is no storage room for games, no employees packing boxes, creating cds and shipping them. It's just a server where you download.
If that was the sentiment, then great. If it wasn't, then well you have to construct it a bit.
The business model has to be updated, not just the games.
I recommend both cdkeys and fanatical.
Or when MS decides the sale model ain't working no mo ;)
