Immersive Space Travel and Landings and Other Configs
There is so much misinformation from the haters/naysayers all over the place. Most peeps are so lazy to not even do just a little research before continuing the misinformation based upon 'Youtubers'.

Should all of this be part of the game? It mostly is already......just not configured like this. Bethesda went for the lazy gamer approach with instant access to quick travel because they would have been flamed to no end about more realistic travel times in space. Can you imagine the flaming? Nuclear! hahaha

Funny side note.....
Peeps here state Star Citizen Immersion for space travel....I play it and know/hear....one of the FIRST THINGS peeps do in Star Citizen is move their home to one of the orbital space stations.....wait for it.....here it comes.....to eliminate the time that it takes to go from ground to space. Orison (older version) took awhile in the slower ships. Ohhhh the whining from players. Hahaha. Also.....Elite Dangerous had some nifty timing that could be done when approaching a planet in Supercruise to eliminate flybys and reduce the time for gravitational deceleration (made the planet approach realistic but take awhile). Both of those games do have loading screens between space and planet. Just more cleverly disguised. Bethesda does sort of have the ED style already.....just implemented a quick black screen in the middle of it. hahaha.

So here are some options that you can use right now for a much better and realistic space experience. Most of these are not even mods in the 'normal sense'....ie esm esp esl Most of this are setting Globals which are already in the game. It is how the game functions.

To set Global Variable Configurations it is super simple to do:
- StarfieldCustom.ini
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
[General]
sStartingConsoleCommand=bat a_startup

Note: Make certain the [Archive] is at the very top for Starfield or some things will not work correctly in game.

- Create a Text File named a_startup.txt in \My Games\Starfield
(notice it is the same above).
- Add the stuff to a_startup.txt (I will paste mine below)
- This bat file will be initialized at every start. Basically it is automating typing all of this in the Console.

Nexusmods (You can search for these yourself by the name of the mod so no links):

- Longer Spaceship Travel
This is not a normal mod. It is a Global Variable setting. Much more immersive space transitions.

- Travel Between Planets Without Fast Travel
These are Global Configs and Hotkeys (or Console Bat files....options). Please see my posts since they are still at the top. The reply I did to my own post adds the method for hotkeys for a smoother experience. A few of us figured this out and refined it early in Starfield's release. The travel ends up being very similar to Elite Dangerous. Once close to your destination though you still need to 'Load' into the planet/moon because of the triggering of game loading scripts and sequences for cell generation.

Note: Each Starfield Star System is in fact one very large cell. It is BIG....like Space BIG. Sure it is smoke and mirrors with math but you CAN travel seamlessly between planets/moons in this system. System to System Travel has to be a Grav Jump because of LY distances. Even LS is very large and Bethesda has implemented it in this game.

- Ships Need Gas and other immersive ship systems
Works great and interfaces well with the ship. All from a tablet. Not buggy either. There is a companion mod to this next. Excellent modder too.

- Ship Weapons Use Ammo
This does work well but I found that it can be a little buggy. So I removed the patch from above and just use it. No doubt once the CK is available this will be fixed properly.

- Landing Animation Reloaded
Immersive landings every time. I use the immersive pilot view option and it is very good. No bugs like a couple of the other mod options. Excellent modder too.

So now you have the space travel immersion mods. So here are some handy configs you can use and tweak how you want. These are what i play with. I am sure there will be some minor adjustments to this latest May Patch once it is fully released to compensate for the new toggle options we have. From what I saw it will not be much work at all.

These have some very nice camera fixes as well. I also enabled NPCs use ammo.
I left the sTestFile= references. This is how the current Stafield uses mods. We are limited to 10 this way. Once the CK is released we will be able to fully use the Plugins.txt method.....or whatever it will be called for Starfield. So for the time being.....try to limit your actual mods to 10. All the mods I have below are excellent.

Hotkeys :: You can use these if you want but I always set up Quick Save (F9) and Quick Load (F10) in my Beth games. Adjust how you see fit. You may need to copy StarfieldCustom.ini and rename it to below. INI files are specially formatted files.

Below has the codes attached to the hotkeys. To adjust your space travel speeds you do it here. The new 150/150 default is applied at startup in the bat file above....which is the same as F4 below.

Below also includes my configs for a walking toggle with appropriate speeds for Walking, Jogging, and Running. They work great and can easily be adjusted to how you like. Keep what your hotkey assignments are in a References.txt file that has other notes and such you want to keep track of while playing. Notepad++ is an excellent text editor for this and many other things.
