Edit: All the Stats EXCEPT weapon damage are doubled or more... the default crew is two yet my "bugged" ship can carry SEVEN?? Tight squeeze in that small cockpit.

If you reload an autosave that was made in space, like what happens when you travel to any system. Then you end up dying during a fight, your ship will have it's stats (non-weapons) doubled after your save is re-loaded. <- 100% speaking from experience
Again this might be only related to the Crimson Ghost, it's the only ship I've been flying during the BETA. I'm about to (hopefully) snag a Phantom.... maybe
It occurs for me when replacing (Selling one and buying another) a reactor in Ship Builder.
Not sure about the shield stuff.
Edit: To be clear, not related to the Beta, Its been an issue that shows up once in great while all along.
