So I'm getting it confused with the Kepler... THe wiki says it just shows up in your inventory.
How many ships do you have? There is a limit.
Did you get the suit and other items?
I have the exact same issue. Competed The Ranger quest chain, got promoted to full ranger. Got notice about my new ship, the Star Eagle. Got all other rewards. Ship is not on my ship list, nor does talking to the technician bring it up. I redid the last part of the quest chain again, but no change. Still no shop. I traveled to another system. Still no ship beside the Frontier on my ship list or at the technician.
I'm not finding anything about how to fix this, aside from something with console commands to place the ship at me and turning off collisions to go underground to access the ship with collisions off (and it spawns halfway underground too). I tried this, but even the unlock console command didn't change the door from being inaccessible, either from inside or outside the ship. No suggestions about console commands to spawn the ship and put it in your actual ownership.
This is very disappointing and frustrating, as this is the reason I did the whole, long ranger quest chain. The Frontier is no longer cutting it for me when I zone into areas in the middle of combat. I don't recall this being an issue on my playthrough a year ago.
I thought I'd try playing it now that they've had a chance to fix the worst bugs and to get modding supported. Evidently they've done neither, and the game is even less playable now!
I was getting really frustrated because I'd done the usual things, rebooting the computer and restarting the game, redoing the final confrontation with Ron Hope, and even verifying my game files etc. None of this worked. I finally bit the bullet, literally, and redid the last part of the battle in the mech factory with the First Mercenary unit (or whatever they were called) and re-killed Paxton Hull. Then I went on to Ron Hope and the Ranger initiation etc.
This time it worked, the ship was available on my ship list when I spoke to the technician.
One hunch I have, though maybe it's a red herring, is that on my first play through there were a couple of those First mercenary soldiers left alive when I killed and got credit for Hull and received the tablet. I finished those two others off after on my first play through. I got credit for them, but maybe doing those in the "wrong" order glitched a bit of the quest, even if it still allowed me to proceed to Ron Hope and get official credit for completion (but with no Star Eagle appearing). This is just a guess.
But if anyone else finds this thread because of the same bug, try verifying game files, rebooting, and then going to an earlier save in the First to Fight, First to Die mission chain before finally killing Paxton Hull, and make sure all the mercenaries are dead before you talk to him. For me, at least, it appears that the problem was somewhere near the end of the First to Fight, First to Die battles and starting over with the Ron Hope confrontation quest didn't fix the issue.
Frustrating, and whatever the ultimate source of the issue I hope they fix it, since it's really easy to miss one or two of those endless mercenaries (for a unit that was utterly "destroyed" due to their abandonment, there sure were a lot of them left alive to fight) en route to Hull.
I just did what you suggested, backed up all the way to Marco, and repeated the storyline, making sure to kill all members of the First in the penultimate mission.
I also waited a while to dismiss the dialog box that told me I was awarded the Star Eagle, in case closing it too fast was causing a race condition.
It worked! I tried five or six other things first and nothing worked.
Since I did some stuff before returning to Akila I don't even have an old save. How do I restart a completed mission?
Vlad I reported this earlier on here and you said the same thing.
Its a documented bug that 13months after release still hasn't been fixed.
The only way I fixed it was by restarting the questline.
