Worth playing in 2024?
Will caveat this post and say I am not cautious about spending my money on games. I played this game for awhile in the hype train as it released, but only about 80 hours worth or so. Never finished it and it felt a bit lacking over time compared to the hype surrounding it (as is common with overly hyped games).

Love that they are still adding new things to the game so I was interested in hearing from players active in the community today if they think it is worth starting a new play through in 2024? Interested in both sides of the coin for feedback.

Absolutely. This last beta patch is great so unless you want to opt-in now or wait until it goes live in a week or so but yes, imo it's well worth it but only you know the type of games you like.

I think 3 way, if you can't wait, go ahead play in beta, you can keep character with new save game by going end game unity new game to fresh out to avoid any issues or bug if need to be.
2 wait on May 15, that is where big list patch improve game but beta save game can turn into that day anyway, so why not play now with beta upgrade it's will carry your save game when May 15.

3, you could wait for DLC in fall, that is 5 month or more (May 1, starting)

Take your pick. I think it's good to start game now with beta patch or wait till May 15, it's up to you when you are good mood to play game, but land vehicles might not come till way later, who know it's could come with DLC or upgrade in fall/late 2024, I had no idea, but they working and testing, or so they said in video.

They added some of the basic things that should be in any game at launch, and the plan to add some more, they say they fixed some of the insane bugs in this game but ppl still report them ;p CK is still not released ;p I dont know if they even added a melee button, last I checked it wasnt there ;p

So I dont think much has changed, except maybe the Chess CLub tune changed from ''this is an awesome game you cant judge it after 80 hours you must play more'' to ''the game was awesome at launch and now with gamma slider and SOME area maps its even better''.

You say you like burning your money ;p What about the time cause no1 will give it back to you ;p Also no1 will pay you for beta testing this ♥♥♥♥ until its actually ready for release ;p

Its your choice xD

If you didn't like it before I don't think you will like it now. All those "updates" are mostly just some bug fixes, and they even add some new bugs.

Wait for DLC and a "complete" edition if you want to purchase and if you are a returning player i would say it has changed a bit and some of the bugged quests have been fixed so it is improved a bit however the updates are far between, especially since they are preparing the DLC and Creation kit for the modders.

It's not (yet) worth it.
Maybe in a few years it will be better.

Will definitely say I had a lot higher expectations for it, that part is for sure. Worth noting I hate FPS's, but this is one I actually enjoyed to an extent. Will probably check it out in a month or two and perhaps complete the story then with a fresh playthrough.

No, it isn't worth spending money on.

Starfield will never be redeemable as it's problems are as much pragmatic as they are conceptual and no amount of patching, DLC, or modding will ever fix it.

The atmosphere is lifeless, the writing abysmal, traversal is unengaging, and encounters and exploration are reduced to menu choices rather than the interactive experiences of past titles. Bethesda chose to strip away the best parts of its formula for Starfield, for whatever reason, and it utterly suffers for it.

Really worth it if you didn't play it all, because if you have completed all the quests, there is nothing much to do. Feels very empty. New Game+ is not worth it. Resetting all your progress was a terrible idea for this kind of game

Did I mention the loading screens?
They really didn't skimp on those, you really get your money's worth.

I really enjoy SF, and the new update did bring a really fantastic land/city map, which was a feature I really wanted. But with land vehicles still on the horizon and the new expansion coming in September, I believe you may be best served to wait.

Assuming the average load screen is 5 seconds (in my experience they were often less) then even 20 load screen an hour amounts to just about 2 minutes in an hour.

Grow up.

If you arent itching to play it right now, OP, then just wait till the expansion.
My account shows about 300 hours total in the game, I think, with 2/3 of that being my own personal time.

I reached the point where I was satisfied and eager to see what updates and mods will bring.
I could play now and have fun here and there for a bit,
but I'm patient enough.

Still actively anticipating every Tamriel Rebuilt update even after 20 some odd years of knowing about that project, haha.

Depends.
It got performance updates, bugfixes and a few features.

I suggest waiting for more story content, so that you do not run out of it too fast, when you play again.

Wait until more updates and the shattered space expansion comes out... Thats my plan at least... Not enough has changed just yet... :cozybethesda:
