But I love seeing what people have created.
Okay will check them out. :-)
Cob's Starship Customs. This adds a couple neet habs to the mix. A wing port and starbord that has great window vies a bed a galley and plenty of room for other furniture if you decide to add it. Also it adds 2 types of single room with window staterooms. One is single person with private bath. The other choice is just a empty room with window for you to decorate yourself. I prefer the single person room as it has the bed and bath allready.
Next are Mods by Lord Gregory. This modder has a number of really good standalone mods that do everything from improving engine builds to shields and reactors. More to come in my Next post :) which will include my absolute favorite Mod for ships.
TIG's shipyard Overhaul: This one is genious. it includes a new 3x3x2 habitat. 2 styles Open and the Frontier. My fav the frontier. Includes a Reliant medical facility, a ship infirmary if you will. Also includes a crafting room with the crafting stations in it. And so much more. He has include an actual ships doctor who you can find at the lodge waiting to be hired. A Tig sanitation bot that when I dropped an item on the floor it rushed over and scooped it right up. No more garbage accumulating all over the floors. the Tig bot is serious about its job. This one is a must have for those looking to hire a crew and live on your ship. A bounty clearing station is upstairs with a mission board And a Constellation mission board. Very convenient especially for clearing your name of those pesky bounties. I highly recomment Tig's Shipyard Overhaul. He also has mods redoing the skill magazine covers and the Outpost posters. When you need that change to your vibe :)
I found ship building to be easy after a couple hours of practice.
However, I also discovered a nasty bug that will kill a new player's interest in the game if they can't solve it. Turrets may stop firing after a simple modification. The only way to fix this is to modify your character at Enhance!
Secondly, it's important that new players learn the building rules. You can only have three weapon types. Lasers, cannons, and missile launchers. And each type can only total 12 power. So if a ballistic gun has 3 power, you can use four of them.
I don't remember seeing any of these rules explained in the game.
I found the Dragonfire II to be the best ship in the game. The interior design is very nice. It has everything that you need and all rooms are easy to access. It's very easy to navigate to the bridge. Other ships like the Narwhal are not only bugged, but its interior is like a bloody hedge maze.
The Dragonfire II also has four particle beam turrets and can be given 3 gauss cannons, making it unstoppable with just the two weapon types.
I finished the game last night. Didn't expect to be given the Starborn ship. That is as clean and as simple an interior as you'll ever get.
People hate it because it doesn't have a bed, or anything else, but in the 506 hours that I played this game, I never once needed a bed, or any other items on my ship. Beds are everywhere in Starfield.
All sleep and no work makes Jack a dull boy.
