DirectX Issues: If your PC does not have the accurate DirectX configuration files, it might not be able to run AAA Titles like Starfield. In that case, installing DirectX is the best option.
Visual C++ Redistributable Issue: If Visual C++ Redistributable is not installed, there can be multiple problems. This issue stands as a major problem if you haven’t played games on your PC earlier.
driver time out could be too high overclock, poorly setup pc, poor or failing psu, having more than one monitor connected running at different frequencies, using enhanced vsycn , trying to run the game beyond what it's capable of, if you re-installed windows tdid you re-install chipset drivers ?
the problem is somewhere in your system, you should be able to run the game med-high setting, you could have a 3rd party program running that conflicts , could be streaming settings , the games stable and runs rock solid
DirectX and Visual C++ Runtimes are installed. Other AAA titles work fine, its just starfield :/
@pike: i meant that i uninstalled all graphics drivers first before installing a new one, but since i also re-installed windows, old drivers should not be the problem.
i'm using one monitor, and also tried to disable all sync functions with no effect.
On low graphics, AMD Adrenaline shows me over 150 FPS and 30-50% gpu usage before the game crashes, so the system should be able to handle the game as you said.
re-installing chipset drivers: shoud you do that manually? i used the identification software from the AMD website and thought it youd install just everything it needs? did i miss something here?
3rd party programs (except for stream) aren't even installed on the pc :/
Thank you for taking the time!
in amd cp for the what do you have turned on for starfield ?
what are your display settings in the games settings ?
how much ram do you have ? and is smart access memory on ?
"3rd party programs (except for stream) aren't even installed on the pc :/"
stream or steam ?
yes its 24.1.1., chipset drivers are installed via amd download.
in th Adrenaline control panel i tried everything - everything turned off, everything on, no enhanced sync, ... whatever i choose, it makes no difference.
ingame, i tried borderless window, windwo with 2560x1440 (16:9) and other window sizes, upscaling on/off, vsync on/off, dynamic resolution on/off, VRS on/off, low medium and ultra presets, ...
and sorry i meant STEAM :)
i now tried a mod that removes shadows and GTAO, and with this i got 30 seconds more ingame time - and then it crashes :(
Hope you get it fixed soon.
is it a tv or a monitor ?
what refresh rate , whats the native res ? what frequency ?
how much ram do you have ? and the game is on an ssd right ?
Damn. It could be anything really. I assume you don't have any mods for starfield which could be causing issues. Are you 100% sure you have all the correct drivers for your hardware? Your motherboard as well.
i got 32gb ram, a pc monitor ViewSonic VX3211-2K Series, running in 2560 x 1440 @60Hz but i also tried different resolutions.
and yes it's on a ssd of course.
Since i always get a "Driver Timeout" Popup i always thought it would be a driver issue.
Man that DRIVEs me crazy :)
