Although I haven't played as much since the last patch I have to agree with you on that front. I do seem to be seeing more Starborn exiting Starborn ships that land near me. But again I think I agree with you on not many ship landings lately. Maybe a patch to the patch is coming.

YES - NPC ships landing on planets/moons are now EXTREMELY rare. So rare you'd think they do not land anymore.
It was reported during the beta on March 8th https://steamcommunity.com/app/1716740/discussions/0/4290313152627434676/

I have been to 3 Ship Landing Markers this play through alone (already existing, they no longer mark AFTER the ship landing) and no ship is there. Something is wrong.

Also in scripted ship landings (Muyobridge POI and Abandoned Hanger) I have seen ships land and if I am LUCKY a single Enemy comes out, mostly though no one comes out.

[...]Yeah those really bug me. I want a battle at the very least but I'd also love for that battle to end with the possibility I can take the ship.

There is a theory I read that believes that the tweaking of POI distances has put the squeeze on the room required for a landing zone. Look how far they spawn from you. It's about 1km or a bit more. If that distance is for everything, moving stuff closer together just removed their ability to spawn.

I havent seen ships landing in my game either ever since the previous update. Either its a bug or they removed it on purpose maybe cause they dont want people stealing ships easily. But I love being a pirate :steamsad:

I noticed when I land on planets there are a lot of buildings you can explore right when you leave the ship, they are so close. I cant tell if it was a recent change from way before the recent update.

I had a spacer ship Land at a facility with Va'ruun at it. The ship bay opened and there were 3-4 spacers and 1 Var'ruun person fighting in the ship bay. Was neat. I shot em all and ship took off.

I think so too. There seem to be more Natural POI and caves on the outer bounds than before as well. I might try a mod that reduces POI and see if it changes anything. That would eliminate one factor. A sketchy timer may be the other factor

I have noticed this. They do still land, and I have seen pirates come out. (killed them too) but it is a lot rarer than before. Also noticed the scripted landings not producing baddies as well. I wouldn't worry too much about it. BGS will fix it in time.
