Is Han Solo evil?
(He shot first. No questions will be taken at this time.)
Although, that being said, I really do want to invoke violence against the "photographers" that ♥♥♥♥♥ at me about getting in "their shot".
Those photographers might be spirit guides. They are very calm, often in perilous environments, with no ship or companions in sight, and they give you a special destination to seek.
So best you shoot on sight :D
I'm thinking we are evil lol
Ecliptics are predominantly mercenaries. Not all "mercs" are good, and not all are bad, but Ecliptic? Well, Ecliptic however fall very hard on the "we'll beat you to an inch of your life" side of the mercs hierarchy. See how they act at Red Mile, for example.. Even trying to Intimidate Mei into giving them more pay.
They're often used by both sides of the Faction war, and have no real allegiance to either side. They're entirely driven by might and money.
Ecliptic Captains even fight for their command... Not strong enough? You die and someone else takes your place as Captain.
Outside of a literal few encounters (Crimson Fleet UC Sysdef mission, first act "retrieve Barrett" mission & Ecliptics @ Red Mile), they're all agro from the very start. That in itself is enough of a "pass" for a play to treat their factions however they want.
It would perhaps have been nice to see some variety in their response to the player. Like perhaps encounter Ecliptics out hunting another bounty (not you) and just wanting you to get out of their way, or perhaps Crimson Fleet finished cleaning out a crashed ship/deserted location and bailing rather than confront you. Or even a lone Ecliptic maybe offering to split the payment on a job with you (though there is a random bounty hunter you can meet who does that).
There's a good argument that CF are "evil" in that traditional sense, some individuals notwithstanding, as there's dialogue and lore discoverable in-game which removes any doubt about how they treat people. Ecliptics, less so - I'd rather Ecliptics encountered players as 'neutral' at first, only becoming agro if we stepped over a line (get caught looting) or initiated the violence. (And I'm sure we'd all like to beat the snot out of the Ecliptics at Red Mile.)
They shoot at you on sight ?
Yeah I don't think we should give tax breaks to the wealthy either. Glad to see someone who shares my core values.
pathetic
They are a tribes; that openly attempt to kill, anyone outside of their tribe.
