Sigh...I wanted this game to be good.
Listen I wanted this game to be awesome. Hell I bought a new decked out computer for it. I love Skyrim and have played/enjoyed many Bethesda games since Daggerfall. However...After playing almost 250 hours I have to say this games appears to be very "woke" focused. You can be a thief but your going to be ostracized by the main characters. No babes walking though this world, (hell no you womanizer!) just a bunch of really forgettable ordinary folks wearing the same standard clothing. You can fight the pirates but if you kill people that are doing their damnedest to kill you (you are the problem in this scenario) you get threatened with the brig. I guess what I am trying to say is this game seems tailored to curb any violent/unsociable tendencies of your character and promote Diversity, Inclusiveness and Equity (DIE) training you get at work. Lets put it this way. There is most defiantly a "right way" (socially acceptable) way to play this game (and everyone will love you) and wrong way which is frowned on throughout the game which takes the fun out of most everything. If you like it hey I'm wicked happy for you but for me...kind of dull.

DEI is good for gaming and society, welcome to the NWO.

Might of borrowed that, but it just 'wokes' so well, sorry Meph:steamthumbsup:

I beg to differ. Those people are the stuff of nightmares. Not at all forgettable.
Anyone who buys a new computer specifically for a game they haven't played - deserves everything they get.

(Couldn't make it past that ridiculousness.)

plenty of good games to enjoy on that new computer, SF was sold as a innovating game and sold merely by misinformation
you're not the only one to fall victim for this

A game world giving horribly evil choices serious long-term consequences? That's just crazy.

So being a fair, decent and normal person in a video game is bad. Got it.

No apologies necessary please. The sentiment deserves to be spread far and wide.

It doesn't help that this forced gameplay style launched next to BG 3 that allows you to be really dang evil.

I think it hurts itself just due to the setting. Everything feels all hunky-dory and we're just trying to solve the mystery.

Fallout 3/4 for example you are just trying to survive so fighting for resources/weapons no matter the circumstances make sense.

Skyrim's fantasy setting allowing you to be a vampire/werewolf/assassin/etc. made it too easy to allow for darker playthroughs.

Starfield by comparison just feels too passive at the moment. I can easily see darker choices/styles being made available with a DLC which is pretty typical for BGS.

Stary Starfield NPCs are properly creepy.

Well, here's the thing. I wanted Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power to be good. But it wasn't. It sucked. So what did I do? Stopped watching it and moved on. I didn't hop on a Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power forum and keep complaining about it.
