I hope someone can help.
I hope someone can help.

I have a mod where you can take more crew on your ship.
Now I actually want the entire crew to wear the same clothes. I can only change the NPC with names their outfit. Is there a mod that allows me to customize clothes for non-named NPCs as well?

You could try https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/7469, it has an option for inventory management, though I haven't tried it out yet. But I suspect it works for all vanilla followers.

For a quick fix, the console command OpenActorContainer 1 will do the trick.

both are not an option. I'm talking about regular NPCs that you can pay to join your crew. That console command doesn't work either...

that mod seems like overkill, but from the description it should work for crew as well as named companions (nb: I haven't tried it)

for the console command, make sure you click the crew member first (once the console is open)

actually scratch that, it doesn't seem to work for me either - not even with a named companion that's actively following me.

player.OpenActorContainer 1 doesn't even work.

weird, this is the correct command according to the wiki

Normal ones if you just trade with them you can put the clothing you want in their bag and tell them to wear it.

weird; I get nothing at all - I tried copy-pasting it from the wiki just in case I was making a typo and everything, I'm not running many mods beyond the community patch so I'm kinda baffled here?

EDIT: and now when I retry it it's working. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To use "OpenActorContainer 1" in Starfield you need to be a certain distance from the NPC. Try selecting the NPC in console, backing up a bit and then using the command. You don't need to be too far away, but you definitely can't be face to face with the NPC.

Sounds like the problem is addressed but I will share other solutions. Target the NPC in console.

additem xxxxxxxxx (where x is the item id)
Equipitem xxxxxxxxx (where x is the item id)

If you want to get really fancy you can put it all in a txt file say (Crew.txt) and then target and type bat crew (or whatever its name). If you want to speed things along.
