Ship building not working right?

Is it just me? I can't seem to get the Parts list to work. If I scroll to a section say Habs. the slider is all the way at the bottom and only shows the last/ larger habs. I can manually slid it with the mouse or use arrow keys to get to the smaller habs. But as soon as I move my mouse to the hab I wish to get it slides back down to the bottom of the list. I've tried using the mouse and hitting enter but it gives me the hab that would be there if the list was slid to the bottom. This happens at everyplace I go to to buy anything.
So if the item list is longer then one page it does this.

My guess is that you StarUI Ship Builder?

It's a vortex mod? No I don't use mods and the only cheat I used was the money cheat

The only problem I have had with it this current patch is it keeps snapping onto random parts and then only offering parts that will snap where it randomly decided to connect.
Once I can get away from the ship and get the whole list of stuff, it all works just fine, but if its on an existing piece it won't show things that can't be placed there -- eg if you are on a structural piece with a weapon mount, you can't look at reactors until you get off that...

habs can be a little spastic but once its places on the UI you can click to drag it and change it to any of the others with the keyboard arrow keys. I always just put down the base default type and change it after, as the menu there can be picky but it also seems to work more or less. Dunno whats making yours jump around, its clunky but not jumpy for me.

In that case, try this, because it isn't a bug I've seen anyone mention before. Might be a file problem.

And I'm sorry I AM NOT going to uninstall and reinstall AGAIN! But this problem is getting to be a game breaker. I love the game and ship building is one of my favorite things to do so if I can no longer build ships why play?
I mean I played yesterday morning/ afternoon 6/19/24 with no problem got got off then back on that night and had this problem. Thought it might be because of the credit cheat but I was using that during the day with no problem.

i think this might be the wierdest bug i've ever heard of , it's down right bizarre

Any controllers plugged in? Or a touch screen monitor?

You could try disabling (or forcing off/on) Steams controller functions for the game (in the Starfield properties - Gear icon on the games library page).

Not seen it with Starfield, but I've seen other people having issues in other games where Steams controller system messes up due to not playing nice with a touch screen, or other controller (like a touch pad or tablet input etc).

The game crashes when using Outpost Ship builder and The Key Ship builder and it always crashes on Windows 11 to desktop and that has nothing to do with any mods that my game is using either. Also rest of ship Builder star yards, etc. Work fine though.

Also there is an issue with the game using virtual memory and not actually using save game on my SSD and even if you deleted all save games the game does delete any files though. Just after that the game crashes immediately to desktop.

Welp did what I didn't want to uninstalled and deleted everything that said starfield and reinstalled it ( did save my saves) That fixed it
