Trying to find immersive mods
I'm trying to find ways to make the game more immersive. I've installed mods like StarUi HUD to hide elements like enemy markers on the watch, health bars, weapon and ammo icons. I also recently learned how to hotkey on/off the remaining ui elements like the watch to make myself press a key to show it only when I want to see it.

Are there other mods or suggestions you all recommend to make the game more immersive?

I am currently thinking of ways to limit what I can carry around to increase the difficulty. Even on the highest difficulty of this game, things just get too easy too quickly. I already tried not buying any weapons, ammo, or meds and I still find way more stuff than I will ever need. I still play Skyrim from time to time and mods that have camping backpacks, display holstered weapons, and reduce speed when encumbered are what made me really love the game and helped to keep it challenging. Sadly, the mod scene with Starfield just isn't there yet.

For now, I'm pretty much just setting personal handicaps to make the game more interesting.

I'm also looking for a Nexus mod that I half remember but can no longer find. It was about NPCs not interacting with you unless you are close and in front of them. Better NPCs mod and Reduced NPC Greetings mod sound similar to what I want but neither prevents NPC quest activation or prevent an interaction if you are behind the NPC.

I basically don't want a hundred quests activated when try to walk through Neon or Akila City (the worst culprit).

Maybe it's a combo of mods.
Mission Control? (to rein in all those side missions?)

Fantastic! I'll give that one a try. I've been avoiding mods that require script extender/plugin enabler because of future update compitability but this is too good pass up.

I hope it works. I've passed that mod once or twice now, and haven't used it yet, so I'd be interested in your opinion on it from a perspective of helping immersion :)

Just my luck! I install Starvival and Deadly Hazards mod and both are basically being sunset by the authors now with this new Starfield update. Still, they were really fun and exactly what I wanted. Starvival's encumberence system was excellent and I loved the frantic nature of Deadly Hazards when you're outside in extreme climate. That mod you suggested Mission Control was also great. After about a week of gameplay, I had only two minor missions added to my Activities section. This is after walking around all major settlements in the Settled Systems.

Hopefully this will still work or will be patched to work with the new update. I won't hold my breath though. Several modders are saying that mod updates won't come until CreationKit is released. I like what this new Starfield update adds and it'll do for now until modders have a better foundation to work with.

The new game settings really change the game a lot. If you max all of the settings (Enjoying the above mods you listed), you will find a lot of satisfaction. They make it a whole new game from vanilla normal settings.

For sure. I have very little hard drive space so I'll wait for the full update mid-May instead of installing another 100GB for the beta version. It sounds like a whole new experience like you said. Can't wait!

That's what I'm doing as well. I'll wait until mid May, in the mean time I'm still playing on my same character save since August 31st (1,800 hrs).

If you force yourself to not Fast travel it can be very (Harsh) fun as well. Nothing worse than being caught in a hazardous storm depleting your max Health while suffering infections from wounds in a previous combat and no shelter in sight. You will find yourself consuming Aid items (Food/Water/Meds) a whole lot more as they have real value now.

This is an odd game and I would rather call it a life sim than a game. Are you sure you like this game?

Nice! Are there things you try in NG+ to keep things fresh?
This update seems like it'll help with that. Things like using stock weapons and gear that I upgrade myself sounds immersive and challenging. Will definitely be easier with higher leveled characters like yours. I usually restart my character so I don't know if enemies get harder or if I need to make it things more challenging myself.

I have several Characters that I consoled through unity to get the NG+10 difficulty bonus and start at level 1 with Max Difficulty Settings bonus (Combat Kept at normal, as NG+10 Simulates Very Hard). It is fun and Tough.

NG+10 adds +100% damage done to you, -50% Damage you deal

Each of them has to be more focused. Playing them as the Alt Universe Versions you find in the Lodge (UC, FC, Fleet, SysDef, Ryujin, Loner, Constellation)

Enjoying the Challenge. The Terramorph on Kreet was nigh impossible to kill though. lol

I like the fast travel handicap idea. I wonderful if the addition of land vehicles means that we can travel across the whole planet without imaginary restrictions.
I do like the game, I just like adding as much value to the experience as possible before I move on. Shout out to Skyrim! I still haven't moved on from it :D

They should add a Fast travel Restriction slider to the Game Settings, that would be nice.
Same for me. Vehicles will add a lot to the Survival game play. Transitions between tiles would be nice. I already avoid FT as much as possible right now. I do it the slow way.

if you are coming from Skylame, then just put what you did over there in this game. Sleep, eat, and walk till you lose your boots. And beware, they still have Arrows to the Knee, only its Blasting! Lol
