How to enable mods?
The game itself is nice, but lack many quality of life stuff, like sorting items by name is bad, and there is nothing like sort by type.

But after using Vortex mod manager and did all by instructions, mods still doesn't work. I Tried adding "StarfieldCustom.ini" but nothing changed.

Is it even possible to mod Starfield?? I don't understand why Bethesda doesn't support mods after so many games from them that are modded.

Beth doesn't support mods YET. It's coming.

For mods to work for me, I had to directly edit the starfield.ini in the steam install folder..... then they actually worked. Vortex really doesn't have a handle on starfield yet either. MO2 seems to be doing a better job. I manually installed all of mine.

yeah it should be working, also im pretty sure vortex handles the custom.ini.
did you install the dependencies if the mods have any?

what should I write here now?

what did the 500 developers do? 300? 200? how many actually worked for it? and what was the end result of a game that is still not fully patched and the problems are still in what we already know?

eventually we will have to accept the reality that the developers tried very hard they just didn't achieve much or the updates didn't help the situation and now the community will have to search to find modders that work

everything is great.

Although even most mod authors are putting some sort of warning on their mod pages you can mod Starfield but you need to pick a method and have some basic modding knowledge.

Personally I'm waiting on the official tools before i mod this game so outside of a few models and texture mods my game is mod free.

Also now that you've started modding and not getting any results you may need to perform a clean reinstall of your game which although is easy to do it does involve more than a simple uninstall/reinstall. The reason for this is to remove any lingering files and ini settings changes. You also may have to remove some lingering files from Vortex.

All of the information mentioned above is in this guide as far as a true clean reinstall of this game.

uh i dont think that one launches through SFSE, try going into the game install folder and running SFSE.

I should mention I dont have vortex on same disk as the game is and it needed connecton through Hardlink Deployment.

Just tried it through SFSE, there was one outdated mod, so I removed it and run it. Sadly seems like it doesn't work (no mods were loaded, yet it started normaly)

i do remember there being 2 seperate folders for the game, did you get vortex to link the 2 folders? its under symlink or something like that.

I think the better bet is to get the My Games\data folder disabler mod, but the mod staging folder on the SAME drive as the game install folder, and go from there.

uuuhhhh...... only folder links I found was in settings -> Mods and settings -> Download. All linked as it should I hope. if I check Starfield folder, all the mods are there in places it needs to be
