Mods make the game
(title)
Thank god for the modding community. It makes you wonder why releasing the Creation Kit so modders can work their magic is taking so long. I know of many modders just itching to make story quests and other fun things. It is amazing what they have pulled off to this point.

Yes the CK is what we need for sure, I want my exploration.

I have to disagree. Not saying you're wrong, you like what mods offer, great, more options the better.
Personally I like the game as is. 3rd playthrough and the game is fun.
BTW I do look into mods now and then and yes, Nexus has some pretty nice mods.

Yes Nexus already has some decent looking mods even before the official tools are released, which btw is the only thing keeping me from modding this game. But, I also agree that I like the game without mods.

You guys are gonna be disappointed. Regardless if you accept it or not, most people don't like Starfield. There won't be significant mods for this game even with the CK, mark my words. The mods that are out now are extremely basic QoL stuff.

I agree with keeping close to the original vision of the game, but I like the QoL mods that are not 'cheat' like in nature. I also like the realism mods that add, say, fuel, maintenance, and upkeep for ships, as well as ammunition counters for missiles. It adds another layer to how you come to the game. Combined with useful brigs and being able to arrest people and send them to your brig to turn in to the authorities, I see the game being honed and not spoiled.

That's exactly what they should be due to no Creation kit as of yet which is definitely coming. Yet in spite of no CK we do in fact have some significant mods already. When you listen to the mod authors on Discord they are waiting on the CK, good thing to come for sure.

We'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong.

You guys crack me up. "I only play mods made with offishal toolz". Meanwhile, with xEdit so many people have managed to make some groundbreaking achievements. Not my problem your ignorance and fanboyism gets in the way of enjoying the so many great mods people have made that make this game what Bethesda couldn't accomplish.

CK comes after the first DLC
Langkard May 3, 2024 @ 11:48am
It is only taking a few months longer for the Creation Kit for Starfield, compared to Fallout 4 which took 5 months. The CK is currently being tested by verified mod creators according to Bethesda. I think it's good that they are taking their time. That's means fewer needed bug fix updates to the CK.
Lunii May 3, 2024 @ 11:50am
The modders can't fix everything. But they can improve the game for sure.
And yes, the modding community is "sick", they do all of this as a hobby, thanks to them!

Money. BGS need the legal framework in order to profit off third party efforts.

The word free won't be what you think it'll be.

that's great that you enjoy it. Us other type of gamers have spent years playing games with a standard that a game should be complete before release.

Starfield is not great, not particularly horrible. A seriously mid game that unfortunately for it had much higher expectations from players. I was disappointed at first by SF but I have been coming back to it and honestly it's a decent experience playing through the quests. However as OP says, mods will make this game become legendary. Hopefully the DLC is good too
