Perspective here it's not my first game and I've built plenty of mods and been banned at least once for using "dangerous words" watch carefully the words you read from my posts can be lethal weapons.
Ah damn it's already too late for some poor bastard out there in steam land ><
Regardless, that just means that Bethesda no longer matters. At all.
Might be wise to exercise some patience. Not like there is a shortage of mods right now, anyway.
Usually happens within ~6 months of a game's release. Though I have to admit, with the game's approval dropping as fast as it has and held as low for so long, you'd think they would want to put a bit more push into diverting public opinion and having the community focus on mods instead.
I expected to see it end of January, and we're at the end of Feb now. One can assume they're working on the DLC hard since it's a paid product. But given they used the CK to develop the game, it shouldn't be a monumental effort to "lock down" the few features they don't want us using and simply release it. Jan 6th would have been a great time for that (4 months after release), but they missed that mark entirely.
I would not and never have expected the Creation Kit to be released by January or February.
I'd guess we'll have it sometime around March/April at the soonest.
After reading up on it, there seems to be a good possibility that the CK will be delayed a lot longer than you think, since they had to really break some stuff and make it bend over backwards to try to get the ancient Creation Engine to even make this game possible at all.
So I think you'll be lucky to get the Creation Kit by the end of this year.
Quite possible yes. Seeing as they missed the mark for a distraction sort of release with the CK, they're probably going to aim for a duo DLC/CK release to really drive up interest later on. It's anyone's guess when the DLC will be ready, so yeah.. an indefinite delay may be the current reality.
Anemic development speed or intention?
