You go the direction in which the distortions in the scanner are highest. The distortion get worse as you get closer to the poi. It will eventually show a marker.
That's the glitch I'm looking at.
Correct there is no quest marker... It is not the only temple with this. It depends on your scan rating and the distance to the final temple poi. It is set up to follow the distortions.
Is the planet surveyed yet?
Go on top of your ship and scan the horizon for a tall structure. That’s the direction of the strongest scanner signal.
I got diverted to a companion quest in the meantime. But I will try the get up on top of the ship approach next time I get back to Skink.
If you land on a given planet, before the temple is unlocked it will spawn a random tile.
Later when the temple is unlocked; its unable to spawn, being blocked by the other tile.
The only way to fix this is NG+
Usually the games pretty good keeping you off premature temple locations; mission wise.
But I cant put it past them to mess even that up.
You'll know if you have a blocked temple, there will still be those smaller structures.
spread around but more of them than normal; instead of 3 you will see like 9
If a temple is NOT located near one of a planet's plotted Points of Interest, then than leaves only walking the entire planet hoping to spot a really, really tall dilapidated tower somewhere near the path being trod.
Not cool. Sadistic design even.
So I hope I'm looking at an actual bug that WILL be fixed.... eventually. (As opposed to a deliberate design element.)
In my first NG+, I did hardly any exploring on my own and BEELINED for doing the Constellation quests, killing the Emissary and Hunter, and getting all the artifacts. While doing that, I kept talking to Vlad and getting the next "power from beyond" quest.
I was scared when I got "Power from Beyond Skink", but this time it worked.
There were 3 powers I could not get in my original game, but this time I have all the powers and I think all but those 3 are at "II."
Before jumping to NG+, for the first time, I could also get Barret's power FINALLY in that OG; so at least I got that.
I was also VERY careful to never go to Skink before getting the "power from beyond" quest in my NG+
The Hunter is actually right about the Emissary: she's a hypocrite. If she really was serious about "keeping the Armillary out of the wrong hands," she shouldn't be using it to build up her own power. Pick a universe and camp out, making sure no one can access that one.... for the rest of her life. If <^that was what she was actually doing, I would have sided with her.
