Not much you can do about it. Might be a mod for it. Not sure, since i use none. But one thing which can help with placing objects in the Outpost is you can slow down the rotation speed in the options.
It's really a dumb design from Beth. As if every player is going to use the default movement keys and then for those who don't want to use the default movement keys, they give them the option to change them. But they are SOL in Outpost build mode. :P
I've seen a bug where things don't work properly in build mode. The solution is to fast travel away and come back to the outpost to reset it.
Many thanks for your replies, they have been helpful.
I decided to go back into Settings>Key Bindings and play around with them again. I did (I have to admit) find some 'key conflicts' which I have now sorted. I can now move around in Build Mode using the Arrow Keys, which I use to move my character in normal game play. So that's good.
However, one problem still remains. In Build Mode, if I select an item to build, as I move forward or backwards, the menu item selection also moves up and down at the same time. So as I'm walking forward the selected item changes until it reaches the top menu item. This is really annoying.
In Settings>Key Bindings>Menu Navigation, 'Up & Down' are set to 'W' & 'S' and there is no Alt Key.
If anyone has further suggestions or ideas, again I'd welcome some help.
Allan.
