Well said.

I agree, Fund Bethesda so they can keep making great games.
Private117 Jun 12, 2024 @ 10:27am
they have this in all there games since a long time. Also you can just go to nexus and downlaod them for free. Nobody is forcing you to pay for them.
I dont find the idea of giving mod creators, who invest their time to bring people new content, a small revenue not a bad thing.

Yes... And the decade long gamer rage is the only reason why they never dared do what they really want.

Monetization of modding under Bethesda's full control.

The day the rage isn't loud enough is the day it happens.

Another issue with the paid mods is the imaginary currency attached to them. If I do want a mod, but it's 700 points, I can't simply buy 700 points, I have to buy 1000 which then will leave a residual of 300 more in excess. It's a scum tactic intended to bait people into continued purchases as that 300 excess with a $3 equivalent is wasted.

There is a chance I would be willing to pay for mods but not if bethesda takes 30+% of what belongs to the mod creator.. Tbh.. if all the proceeds would go to mod creators I might actually not mind that much

Bethesda is only in it for the money, don't care about anything else.

You can donate on Nexus if the creator so desires... done it several times.

paid mods aren't a new thing, they've been there since fallout 4 and skyrim, and yet you still bought the game and put in a thousand hours in it

you support what you hate and then complain about it?
Don_Salvatore Jun 12, 2024 @ 10:48am
I have criticized Blizzard a lot for their monetization, but at least their shop is full of stuff their employees worked on. Presumably on decent wages and benefits.
Like most companies that have monetization.

Bethesda though in its infinite greed is looking to sell stuff without even having to pay employees. Genius... For the corporation and to the detriment of everyone else.

I don't hate the game. I hate Paid mods. I played it because it's called giving it a fair chance.
ZeroFate Jun 12, 2024 @ 10:49am
Over monetization is Bethesdas thing. Look what they did to Fallout 76 with the ridiculous subscription. Yet you people still throw wads of cash at them. I have now lost all hope that Elders scrolls 6 will be just as grossly monetized. As much as I love Elder Scrolls and Fallout, Bethesda is dead to me now. Ill never waste another penny on their games.

but you knew it was gonna get creation kit and paid mods before release, and you still supported it by buying the game

Why is it such a big deal? You can simply choose not to interact with it… it changes absolutely nothing for you.
White Knight Jun 12, 2024 @ 10:52am
Their most recent update video features a number of Creation contributers (ie end-users and modders) who all got jobs at Bethesda this way.

Isn't that the dream of modders?

So Bethesda not only made the tools for you to mod their games, but they gave them to you for free, and now they are hiring people who can showcase their talents with it all?

...umm... what was your temper tantrum about again?
