Does it still suck?
Haven't played since right after release and it was horrible. Is it better now?

Hopefully you got a refund. This game is still a steaming pile of runny crap.

Yep I got my refund. I still have hope that they will add more content and make it more interesting someday. Maybe mods

Hope is a denial of reality. It is the carrot that is waved before the draft horse to keep it moving forward, struggling in vain to reach it.

I've given it more than once chance, and to me it breaks down to this:

Not hot on the story
Writing won't be changed, and it sucks
What's the point in having a ship when you can barely fly it? I mean actually fly, not just select a destination and away you go. Yeah you got the ship combat segments but it's not the best. You still can't fly it around on a planet.
After playing Elite, the travelling is just cringe. I long for fluid immersive travel between planets with grav jumps camouflaging loading screens. Anything is better than what they have in SF now. That's not gonna happen.
Oh and Bethesda doesn't trust you to land your own ships apparently.

In short I was looking for a space sim with a twist of RPG. The RPG part is ok I guess, but the space sim side is lacking.

i did buy a next gen pc so maybe thats why. but the game has only crashed 2 or 3 times in 200hrs of gameplay. before it would crash 3 or 4 times a session. i think the game is way better. we all know from previous bethesda games that it takes time, its still early on and with the new update the game seems to run quit well. im personally looking forward to the dlc and have high hopes for this game while keeping a level head that it is a bethesda game. this game has so much potential with the mod community. i really think this game is another skyrim, a game that is revolutionary. but we will see.

Gane is really fun. I recommend you buy it.

But it was never meant to be a space sim - Its an Bethesda RPG/Looter Shooter set in space... Sorry if you were expecting a space sim but that was never on the cards...

Like some people thought CP2077 was going to be like GTA and when it was not they cried foul... People get carried away with unrealistic expectations sometimes....

Yep, I already know that. I know what they were TRYING to do. Don't get me wrong, they do some things right that are better than my go to space sim - Elite. Walking around on a planet in SF is pretty neat, although there's way too much plant and animal life for my liking. Yeah, I know BGS were afraid of the too empty complaints. That's why they gave some planets lush wildlife and exotic animals, and I think they actually do that well.

I really think they could have done more with the ship too. Just give us a chance to FLY it. Flying to another planet in a system - not a grav jump. And let us LAND the thing! I also know why they probably went with the system they did. They were afraid of the 'boring space travel - takes too long' moan. But at least give people the option.

There has been no major update yet, so it is still like it has been on release last year. It just got some "nice to have" updates, but nothing that really focus on the problems of the game.

The only hope could be the DLC together with a major patch some day.

The bad writing is rarely talked about and it was another deal breaker for me.

Humans love a good story, we've been doing for thousands of years around the campfire. I can watch a really bad movie if the writing is good, to me writing is everything to a story.

And you're right, that's one thing that will never change, even with the CK.

:steamthis:

And loading screens are 1-3 seconds tops. Anyone who played FO4 or many other games knows what it's like to sit thru 60 second loading screens, 10 seconds minimum. Not in this game, nowhere close. And no there's not a ton of them lol.
