Are the Starborn ships worth keeping now?
Given the new update for ship decorating and actually being able to customize them, are the Guardian ships worth flying as your primary or are we still better off going with custom made ships?

You can customize the Starborn ship. 👍

Once I get one I play the rest of the game with it.

The Starborn ships are plain and simply not worth it. I went right back to my huge pirate ship which was leaps and bounds better. But unfortunately, when I completed the game I lost it and got stuck with that worthless Starborn ship. So I played through Crimson Fleet very quickly just to get the huge and good pirate ship back. The whole starborn story, powers and ships are worthless.

NO - granted now you can add decorations and useful items like a bed... unless you are playing "pansy" mode (sorry... Normal mode or easier), they are still inferior to any "B" class ship simply because you cannot upgrade any of the sub-systems.

Head to head... a well upgraded "A" class ship is more powerful/useful.

Same here. No reason to switch imo. especially now given you can build beds/crafting stations, etc.
You can decorate it, but not really "Upgrade" It, except through NG+s.

I know this is an old post, but just wanted to reply. I have not jumped yet, not sure I want to, but I have an outpost on Altair II. The last few times I have been there I have seen a Starborn Guardian nearby. I usually ignore these and they eventually go away, but this one has persisted. Getting curious, I drove over there expecting a massive fight, but to my surprise there were no Starborn around. Just to see what would happen I went inside and was able to fly the ship off. I am now the proud owner of a Starborn Guardian IV. It seems I cannot modify it at all, even decorative, but I may not have that update yet.

I recommend L_K Ships, they are standalone Starborn Guardian ships with upgraded weapons:

The first thing I did when I got back to New Atlantis was ditch my Starborn ship. Now that we can decorate interiors and I can maybe put a workbench in there, we'll see. I'm in no rush to go to the Unity this time.

I ditched my Starborn ship and went back to my class C Shark, much better ship.

You shouldn't be able to enter a starborn ship that's on the ground..... That was a bug, that I thought was fixed a patch or three ago.....

There's a mod that lets you sell both.

there is a mod that does this...gives you 4 IV grade starborn ships in different locations. Not sure if it is tied to SFSE and thus doomed to the wait for upgrade following release of the dlc on the 30th.

I have two such ships in my inventory and I want to sell or scrap them but the game doesn't let me do anything to them. How can I delete them?
